wat would your thoughts be on on a raver dateing a copper
December 12, 2006 at 9:37 pm #1096282Would be a bit strange I think.
:crazy_diz
December 12, 2006 at 9:44 pm #1096277wouldn’t last very long, unless one partner was either prepared to give up raving or to quit the force
ravers take drugs or associate with people who do so – in the eyes of the law they are either criminals or have criminal associates
a cop or even police support staff who has relatives or partners involved in crime would be in the frame for potential corruption/misconduct in a public office…
and I doubt someone whose partner is a cop is gonna have many friends who would trust them with partylines, rave locations, details of drug dealers…
paranoia and mistrust would kill their relationship and close friendships very quickly, some things just aren’t meant to happen!

December 13, 2006 at 12:15 am #1096279ends in tears
December 13, 2006 at 12:51 am #1096286unless it was a secret relation i cant see it lasting very long, and probably ending in an arrest. unless it was a corrupt copper then maybe
December 13, 2006 at 2:02 pm #1096285Does depend because sum ob seem to be fine when not on duty and will turn a blind eye, but many are “always on the job”.
December 13, 2006 at 7:38 pm #1096281If the police forse find out that he or she is dating a anti social raver who breaks the law it may effect his or her job.
If the jornalists find out and print it in the papers, its all hell. But that is just at the worst case scenerio, I think my imagination has just gone too far there! he he.
Seriously, If you reall, really care for the person, then it will not matter to both the copper or the raver.

no, you are not imagining too much there – it could and probably would easily go pear shaped but its far more likely though another cop will find out and blow the whistle…
There is a lot of competition within the Police force for promotions etc, and there are professional standards departments in both the Police and the wider public sector who keep an eye on what people with law enforcement powers do outside of the job.

December 15, 2006 at 12:18 am #1096284i know that people say that coppers are people just like us but FFS if they spend there lives in the shit system of ‘justice’ in this country then they;ve gotta be wrong in the head!
In my opinion the police force have lost sight of whats mportant in the world and they spend there time inforcing laws that are put in place to restrict our freedom of choice!!
I dont see how a copper could be accepted in a ravers circle of friends and vice versa-just wouldn’t work.:groucho:
December 18, 2006 at 2:33 pm #1096283It’d be nice to say it could work but have to say I think GL is right – one way or another will end in tears if one party or the other don’t change their life massively. Either you tell the copper what you do on a weekend in which case he is putting his job at serious risk to be with you or you try to live a double life which is just pointless – you can’t build a good relationship with secrets like that between you and will always come out in the end.
If you really love ythe copper then make the decision to change your lifestyle for him as otherwise your compromising his position, but if he’s not worth making that sacrifice for then I’d leave well alone.
