if its an a licensed event and free entry and your event management team can handle a potentially larger crowd from across the world (or explain to the Police how they would cope with one) you can just post it up here. if its a licensed event you are doing for profit those forums are locked other than for subscribers (we had a lot of big commercial posters taking the piss a while back, hence this policy was added).
Beware though that smaller promoters have had license objections put against them from the cops saying “posting on a big international site could put your event beyond safe numbers” and one lost its license that way. that goes for both free entry and for profit events. I’d far rather warn you about this risk than see you spend loads of money promoting an event for nothing.
if your event has not got a events license you really don’t want to be posting anything about it anywhere on a public website. not here, not facebook, not on SJ, DSI or anywhere else. you are just providing the prosecution evidence for a later Court Case to the authorities on a plate, and they have 5 years to act on it even if you think you’ve “got away” with your unlicensed events.
Friends of mine have lost thousands worth of rigs and even their liberty, so all the perceived security and “paranoia” is there for a reason.
