at least u can go on tinternet at work… last job i had in an office/callcentre we couldnt go on tinternet had to use this rite old comp database but u cud change the colour scheme so mine was quite psychedelic. Anyway one day (was muntered from the weekend) I was browsing through all the clipart images on the computer, there was loads of rite random stuff like a combine harvester etc… Then I noticed everyone on the desks around me had gone quiet…looked round and me boss had been watching what id been doing…got a rite bollocking, we all thought it was funny anyhow. Like being at school, glad I got outta there!

its often the only way a lot of people can look at SJ without getting in trouble at work…

there is also some very sophisticated filtering software in some peoples workplaces that doesn’t just check what URL you are looking at but also the forum content (such as how much swearing, porn and other “inappropriate” stuff it contains).

Many offices are deliberately laid out in such a way its easy for managers to at least glance at their employees screens, plus as cathdreadhead mentioned some offices (particularly call centres) don’t even connect their PCs to a full internet connection and retain their ancient-looking databases…

I agree with Biotech that if this theme is going to be offered it needs to drop the images/smilies (the idea is to make it look like a web/java based database entry screen which lots of people legitimately have in their workplaces…:groucho:)

i think its avaters that give it away, is there anyway you could only use screenames and disable avaters on this ‘wallpaper’ ?

looks good (although TBH it no longer causes a problem for me with my current position at work :laugh_at:)

Although as well as smilies, I think inline images might also have to go as well (these are the big giveaway, particularly as they have become more popular recently)

At this point I think you want to either tell your browser not to display images or use a text only browser like lynx…
