what is comparatively cheap to an English person, is out of reach to a Czech person. It is that simple
Quote:the question wasnt about weather someone has more skills/education, it was weather should me as an english person get a job or should smis, if we were applying for the same job.from your personal point of view, I understand why you would like there to be a protectionist labour market. but try looking at it from an employer’s or a business point of view. who would you want to employ? the person with more skills and experience I think.
Quote:Im not sure weather we “depend” on immigrant labour, there are plenty of ppl up north, even my brother for a little bit, who wouldve done anything! for a job, he had to go on benefits as there were just no jobs for himas a national economy we do depend on migrant labour. really. by employing staff from other countries, for example in NHS, we save billions because those people have cost nothing to England to educate. The govt believe we need 7 million more immigrants working here to cover the cost of national pensions. there are many reasons why we depend on mobile labour
if your little bro would have been willing to move to another part of the country he would have found work easily. In Exeter (where I live) there are constantly about 3000 job vacancies. it’s become hard to encourage new business to the area because there’s no-one to fill the jobs. Those who are unemployed are almost entirely unskilled for work… they can’t claim that someone else “stole” their jobs, because no-one is going to give them a job
Nationally there are more job vacancies than people claiming benefits, it’s just that the jobs aren’t necessarily in the places where people are unemployed. If you can’t find work in your area, you need to find work elsewhere

The agencies often tell people lies, so they can get extra fees from you.
The correct rules are you can come to Britain, work here for a month and only then do you have to register with the Home Office (Interior Ministry).
You do not have to do this via the work agency, you can do this on your own with your employer.
These rules have changed recently – here is a link to them below.

Every time i have applied for a job i have had to prove i am allowed to work in the UK, The people who work illegally tend to do job you and i dont want to be doing (like i mentioned fruit picking).

nah i’m not gonna properly enter this debate ‘cos PP seems ace and his posts always make me laugh…
all i’ll say is “what glo said” basically. i dont really have a problem with workin illegally, i’ve done it (worked before i legally could) and i dont have any problem with anyone else do it, regardless of nationality. if they work hard for their money, then imo the deserve it, british citizenship or not.
then again i hate nationalism in pretty much all aspects
