ahh thats awesome! wish i had more motivation to do something like that.. where abouts is the fair?
my friend set up a stall in camden selling scarves she makes.. bought a load of fabric back from thailand and is making a nice income on it..
May 29, 2008 at 3:24 pm #1173054Thanks!
its not the best of venues,
its in a small hall south of london (suburbia)
but its a start to (hopefully !!!! ) build my confidenceand motivation – well I’ve been painting for years and years and have begun to run out of space so had to do something,
and if I dot sell any everyones getting a picture for their birthday and christmas :laugh_at:
and a party in north london sat night to either cellebrate or drown my sorrows as spent money on the table / frames etc :bounce_fl
May 29, 2008 at 3:30 pm #1173087good luck, hope all goes well. it can be very daunting when confronted with the public like that. what mediums do use mainly?
May 29, 2008 at 3:35 pm #1173055usually acrylic, with texture paste and sand either on canvas or paper and then framed
(and sometimes paper with either print or sort of archetecture drafts and then paint over it)
I really am shitting it (not the most confident of people)
so thanks for your wishes

May 29, 2008 at 7:02 pm #1173049They are actually pretty bloody good. I’d be suprised if they didn’t sell. Actually, how much you selling them for, if you don’t mind me asking?
May 29, 2008 at 7:07 pm #1173066Same as BioTech :biggreen:
I would have them on my wall… you seem to have an artistic streak in your TankGirl 😉
May 29, 2008 at 7:44 pm #1173058cheers guys, I really do appreciate the support
have never sold anything before so its quite dauntingI’m not really sure about the prices so presently I’m thinking of them ranging from 4×6 £5 to A4 £25 – but I may add a few extra quid onto them if everyone else selling for loads more – I dunno – I’m a bit stuck
(but I’m also bearing in mind that this is a hobby and not a ‘job’ )I got the frames really really cheap £1.00 to 4.00 – so dont want to take the piss but I need to make approx £70 to break even – frames / stall etc, but will be happy just to sell a few 😉
May 29, 2008 at 8:58 pm #1173050How much would you sell them for if you had to package them and send via mail?
May 29, 2008 at 8:59 pm #1173045All the best and let us know how you got on!
raaa
May 29, 2008 at 9:02 pm #1173072I don’t think you’ll have any trouble selling them TG, they look really good!!
:love:May 29, 2008 at 11:20 pm #1173078The one on the bottom right how much would you want for that one?

but I asked my mate round for some moral support this arvo ( and a nice cuppa)
and he came up with all this wanky ‘artsy’ inspiration bollox (that I just really cant say – am known for being honest and not talking utter shit )and named them all and as he liked that one I told him he can have it but he told me to try and sell it – but I’m thinking of leaving it out as he’d appreciate it more
(and he’s a loyal getting fucked up partner so thats what really counts……. PS I’m quite pissed by now )
May 29, 2008 at 11:57 pm #1173047Good luck 🙂
I certainly see the bottom right hand one selling and the two ones based on yellow/gold/umber (probably got the colour names all wrong but I expect you will work out which ones I mean)
I reckon even if they don’t sell in the capital (the problem there is more the competition and the “nathan barley” factor) you could probably sell them to yuppies round here particularly 40-somethings “Londonistan refugees” of which there are many
should get Biotech and Titch to be your agents, as they live not too far away from where all the Londoners try to escape to during summer Southwold etc) 😉 also in woodbridge/fram/sax nearer where I live they go for those sort of things.
Even with the recession I think paintings like that could sell as you’re not asking for mega prices but people still want them for their houses and businesses (way better than those awful motivational pictures)
