I’m watching pop charts in the 80’s
and mine was Wham (when I was about 7:P) loved them!! :weee:
we ( me and my sis ) used to love listening to the top 40’s on a sunday and used to try and tape the songs we liked ….
who was yours when you were growing up
We’re the same age and I used to do the exact same thing, tape mixes from charts and trying to stop/start the tape at the right moment to cut off the bit where the DJ talked over endings lol damn that takes me back
I bet like me you still know all the words to this one whether you liked it or not, tis ingrained in the brains of our entire generation
DO THEY KNOW IT’S CHRISTMAS
15/12/1984 – 5 weeks at #1 – 20 weeks on chartIt’s Christmas time
There’s no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joyThrow your arms around the world at Christmas time
But say a prayer
Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it’s hard, but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window
And it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of youAnd there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmas time
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it’s Christmas time at all(Here’s to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here’s to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it’s Christmas time at allFeed the world, feed the world, feed the world
