January 22, 2007 at 10:49 pm #1098419Lol! yeah i swear quite alot dont rally realise though so used to it being all around me. but i do manage not to swear where it would not be seen as acceptable.
FUCKING FUCK BOLLOCKS YOU CUNT FUCK OFF YOU SHIT HEAD
raaa raaa raaa raaa raaa raaa i love it!!
January 22, 2007 at 10:59 pm #1098418swearin isnt wrong, but it doesnt have the same effect if people throw it around every other word. it’s used to add emphasis on something, so if people say it every word then they just sound a tad stupid.
havin said that i dont think about when to swear and when not to. sometimes it just comes out, sometimes not – i suppose its either anger or positive stuff, humour often.
January 22, 2007 at 11:08 pm #1098405I don’t swear in the workplace or where older family members are present –
; but I do a swear quite a bit when amongst friends or online. Usually there is a reason for it (such as annoyance at police oppression or stupid behaviour, or malfunctioning equipment/networks)January 22, 2007 at 11:09 pm #1098407Of course. I keep it under control at work though, and I’m totally against swearing in front of kids.
Seem to swear (when necessary) when I’m around my mum though. It’s ok though, she is cool with it.
I rarely say c**t though. I consider that a pretty savage word to be honest.
Fuck is ok. 🙂
I was reading somewhere that it has become one of the most versatile words in the English language. For example, a guy talking to his friend about the van they are driving that has just broken down:
“Fuck. The fucking thing’s fucking fucked. Fuck it!”
Makes complete sense, no?
Oh and there’s this video which helps explain it even more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUaWCcDlI5s
January 23, 2007 at 12:50 am #1098423i swear. a lot. it’s more than simply part of our culture, swear words have a fundamental function within our language. when you’re pissed off you swear. i find it hilarious when people get all horrified by use of ‘the c word’. it’s just a fucking word, and a useful one at that. if you say cunt while expressing an emotion i.e. he’s a fucking cunt, people know you mean business. the controversy side of swear words is relative, if we didn’t treat swear words as socially unacceptable, then they wouldn’t be so controversial. who defines a word as taboo? essentially we do. i don’t think that words that are essentially intangible and incoherent in terms of real meaning or real shock value should be given such controversial definitions. now, racial swear words, they have real meaning. they are innately derogatory and therefore are worthy of the shock and controversy they create. but fuck, shit, bollocks, whatever all have fairly tame real definitions; to have sex, poo and male genetalia. now whats so shocking about that?
i don’t curb my swearing anywhere, a lot of my mates can’t believe i swear so much in front of my nan or my parents, but you know what i say to them? i couldn’t give a flying fuck 🙂
January 23, 2007 at 1:39 am #1098409hahha thankx for that .. the word. cunt ..dont like writing it even. is a bit ..lot …personal ..takes hell of a lot for me to say :crazy_dru
January 23, 2007 at 1:47 am #1098414I think that swearing is a big part of my daily language..
I don’t always realise i’m doing it just seems a natural thing to do..
But as Biotech say, there are words I never say,and there are words i
never would say in front of my kids..But kids swear a lot too, sometimes
words i never have heard before..

To true raverJanuary 23, 2007 at 11:25 am #1098415I swear like a trooper and dont really care – dont particularly see anything wrong with it. Only time i curb it is at work (until things start going wrong then everyone knows what to expect and accepts it as long as i solve the problem – i work in IT and when shit hits the fan i generally go on one working uber fast on my laptop to resolve the issue while muttering obscenities under my breath and snarling at anyone who distracts me lol), and tend to try and curb it when I’m round other peoples kids as its not up to me to teach them words like that – prob would round my own kids too if had any as wouldn’t want them repeating what they heard at the teachers or something lol.
Really though, end of the day their just words. Even cunt – whats so wrong with it? Its just a slang term for the female genitalia, so why is it any worse than twat, pussy or gash, or even dick, bollocks etc? Granted it sounds a bit harsher out of your throat than pussy but end of the day it has the same meaning.
January 27, 2007 at 2:30 am #1098426fuck yeah i swear all the time
January 30, 2007 at 12:59 pm #1098427yes but im stopping myself to put some swear words in here
:groucho:January 30, 2007 at 2:29 pm #1098424Bah…the last time I checked most people in the U.K were of Anglo-Saxon descent or at least have a few ancestors who were…the words shit, cunt and some of the others all have perfectly acceptable roots in Anglo-Saxon (Old English)…
Next time somebody pulls you up for swearing, call them a racist cunt and tell them to be more sensitive to your culture! :crazy_dru
January 30, 2007 at 2:32 pm #1098416Never really noticed how much till i had a daughter and tried to stop…. FUCK its hard to stop.
January 30, 2007 at 2:50 pm #1098406I tend not to swear when small kids are around, and I don’t swear at cats; it has no effect on their behaviour and many just swear back at you…
January 30, 2007 at 3:02 pm #1098417Swear? Me? shit never, tiz bastard rude and totally unfucking called for.
January 30, 2007 at 6:35 pm #1098413More out of nature than choice. I guess i never thought about it but my language is terrible, im always swearin whether its home, work or out with mates!
Ah-well, Shit happens
January 30, 2007 at 8:43 pm #1098411Due to the faithful reproduction of my words by my toddler at the most inconvenient moments possible I am trying to swear less [but I used to swear like a trooper so its taking a serious amount of work ]
