Running Windows 8 and latest version of chrome. Have to shut down chrome and reload the site then it works. Not complaining just trying to be helpful. Screenshot of where it locks up below.

May 1, 2013 at 10:29 am #1272833I’m operating on Windows 8 too, not using chrome though and I have no such problem, I know jack all about this kind of thing but my guess would be the problem lies with chrome. I’m personally not fan of it anyway.

Nope been doing it for months setup hasn’t changed as far as I can remember. It does bother me doesn’t take a moment to reboot chrome just thought Dr B would want to know from a compatibility perspective.

May 1, 2013 at 11:01 am #1272829This is a windows 8/chrome issue in case you hadn’t guessed. Fucking pisses me off. I am always having to reload pages cos they wont load properly on youtube or any website for that matter.

May 1, 2013 at 11:15 am #1272830Yeah I get pages loading in plain text all the time, flash player not loading, and other crappy issues. I think some of the proplems are coming from ad block compatibility issues with win8

Always happens with me too, gotta give it like 2 minutes and twiddle your thumbs, then go and edit it.

Well something similar, I can’t actually reply to a thread cause when I click the box to add text my keyboard appears then disappears. Sometimes it works when I ‘go advanced’ but that only has like a 5% success rate lol. It only happens with PV.

Better question……. why would anyone use Chrome, I tried it once and that experiment lasted a whole hour before never using it again lol

Its fast, links in with all my google accounts, remembers my bookmarks, extensions and passwords on any machine I log into via chrome, shares all this data with my phone including search patterns etc isn’t full of bloatware, its not IE, its got some great extensions etc
Why did you not get on with it?

Why did you not get on with it?
Compared to Firefox I found Chrome bulky, slow and annoying. Kept offering me addons I didnt want & other stupid stuff, would not import my saved favs & logins/passwords, took me ages just to get the setting to make it play sound off the net. TBH just felt like using selection of other programs thrown together without any thought.
Of course that was probably one of the earliest versions, and I would hope they have improved it by now but still the initial experience was bad enough to put me off ever giving it a 2nd chance ; )
May 1, 2013 at 5:34 pm #1272838I used to hate Chrome & wouldn’t move from Firefox but for some reason I changed over and couldn’t believe I hadn’t done so earlier. To be fair though as long as it loads websites its all good.

Its pretty slick now I find it faster than the fox but they are both good browsers, even IE isn’t totally rubbish now (although still mostly rubbish).
