I did try all that but it was simply being overloaded with the audio meter, streaming software and backup playout software all at once (it also serves as a test system for the community radio station I volunteer with – but i got given yet another obsolete laptop with a cooked battery (that needed a clean format anyway) and it is more powerful than the last one, so its been replaced and seems to be working well
So in the new year once it has calmed down a bit and visiting relatives returned to SE England (including my mum who is advancing in years and so can’t kept awake by noise) I will be on air raaa
and it means the other laptop can be redeployed for decoding weather maps in another room where I can get a better antenna feed away from all the interference signals here.
