ISTR there are at least two old-skool/hardcore tunes with this sample, the most recent one being a Slamming Vinyl release (probably Red Alert and Mike slammer, around 94/95 ish)

April 11, 2006 at 5:26 pm #1069663Same here. I think GLs right on the slammin vinyl one though…….
April 11, 2006 at 6:16 pm #1069660If you mean the original it’s By Degrees of motion called Shine On.
The one slipmatt always used to play around 92ish was Origination – Breakdown. Funnily enough ‘origination’ is Photek and someone else that I can’t remember. Anyone in to their dnb will know Photek and will appreciate the change in music style.

who would have thunk it, eh? i always thought there were more links betweend dnb and oldskool that anyone let on…
April 12, 2006 at 12:08 pm #1069665Of course. What did you think they all did before dnb came along?
Hell- nookie did ‘the sound of music’, even andy C had some old skool releases.
April 12, 2006 at 1:28 pm #1069661Aye. And Kev bird of ‘Compounded’ fame & Basement records regular now produces hard house and funky 😀
Plenty of people from the old skool days have changed styles and moved in to different areas under different aliases. Only natural to keep up with the times and changes of tastes I suppose.
April 12, 2006 at 6:40 pm #1069669yeah its great to keep up with the new styles coming out, but THE OLD SKOOL WAS JUST THE GREATEST. there are many great tunes out these days but no UTTER CLASSICS!
i just cant help having a dribble when i get the old tunes out and blow the dust off. this is backed up by any big event having an old skool arena. and its gonna be kikin with me vip tickets to the alexandra palace this weekend. 10,000 people cant be wrong?!
thanks again to all the massive out there that keep helping me and keeping the best style of music alive.
massive respekt.
