I think it really depends,
it depends on your current situation, life experience to date and outlook on life
I know alot of people who like or dont mind it –
(I’d say unfortunately) – they feel secure there –
they like the routeen it keeps them (in their world) safer then if they were out,
it gives them an opportunity (to sometimes) get clean, do some study, get some sort of sense of normality back, ……and see some of their mates again – but I guess it just shows how shit their life is on the out. or its just become ‘part’ of their life style –
I know a lot who would rather be there than in a detox unit or similar place, or who want to get clean and think its quicker going inside rather than sitting on an nhs waiting list – and the sad thing is most will start using the minute they get back out as they need the ‘policing’ to stop them, as they not ready their selves but want to stop still.
and again on the other hand I have heard some brutal stories (stories from both inmates and staff attempting to do good)
of horrific bullying from other inmates and prison guards
some can ‘take it’ and some ‘cant’ hack it at all
