May 21, 2012 at 6:32 pm #1248087I remeber the episode with the space princess, but I don’t really remeber there being a “wolfpack mentality on here at all. All I remember was something to do with her saying to p0ly that he probably has STD’s from all the women he sleeps with, and then him making nasty replys. I could be wrong. But I don’t remember anyone else rallying against he. Can you remember what the name of the thread was. I’d like to take a look at it. As far as the “username” police thread goes I personaly think its harmless, but who knows if enough rabble is made about it it will probably be taken down. Shame though I think it’s a nice icebreaker for new members. TBH you gotta be a complete forum noob not to notice that the thread is like however many pages long after you post on it.
May 22, 2012 at 7:41 pm #1248082AnonymousBlimey, I find this a hard one to explain. I like to have a chin wag on this site, though I find many topics are started by new users with one post – the one starting the thread. Then we never hear from them again, despite all the input from PV into their request / problem etc.
It’s sort of why I stopped posting here for a while. How this can be changed, dunno. Just bringing attention to one of the few annoyances of a great website.
know what I mean guv?
May 23, 2012 at 9:19 am #1248080One post wonders…hmm what annoy me more is the troll feeders, most of these one post wonders is from india/pakistan or far-east and they are easy to spot. So before people start feeding the trolls, I would like a report, as soon as anyone of you start posting in the thread I do not delete it unless it contains spam…

I feel I have played some part in this feeding frenzy of the troll posts. Although I did learn a valuable lesson from it after I had all my posts deleted.
Sorry sinner :group_hug

the blatant spammers (foreign or even local ones, sadly London now produces a few especially students) don’t last long here, the Malaysians bricked it when I hinted I knew exactly what uni they went to and where their halls of residence were (wasn’t far from my mums old house) but I agree that there are way too many folk what ask for advice about drugs and then disappear, especially if its “not news they want to hear”. Its not just the Americans either.
July 3, 2013 at 5:14 pm #1248114I’d like to change my avatar and details so I can get stright on with the Partyvibe…

Ya, ill say! This definitely isn’t the friendliest forum..maybe just culture differences, who knows…who isn’t going through hard times though, shit everyone I know is nt just europe…I know I’m one poor bitch, but I also believe what comes around goes around…there are people who use these forums 2 make friends and meet people, this 1 makes that hard 2 do..who knows, guy asked a ? And I answered it..maybe this just not the right forum for me..( Sad really hopen 2 meet some cool pep)
Well this place must have changed quite radically since that person registered. I recall being welcomed with open arms; if I hadn’t have been I wouldn’t have stuck around. Also most people that aren’t a blatant spammer receive a warm reception in my short stay here so far.
July 3, 2013 at 8:39 pm #1248089I still want a shoutbox like on some other forums. It is a box at the top of the homepage where you can write a short message in for all to see. also you can scroll down to see the previous comments. If you want to see what I am talking about look at this website hosted by a guy who I game with occasionally BattleStrats PTFO Gaming Community

Just checked it out. Could be a useful tool. I think if it were ever implemented on PVR though it would need a filter or restriction on it so registered users and members couldn’t use it. This would significantly minimise the possibility of it being filled by spammers; as most are ratted out and banned before they reach the required 10 posts to become a senior member.

One forum that I use for finding squads on battlefield has a shout box at the top of the forums section. I have found it very handy for dropping quick posts down to grab peoples attention. Take a look BattleStrats Community Forums I dunno if it can be aplied to vbullletin cos the use ip.board for their site. but as I say I would use it quite a bit for dropping bits of news in the feed quick and maybe then make a thread about it while the masses are reveling about my news.
also I would like to see the active topics button become bigger better and have some flashing lights around it. Nahh seriously I sometimes think the active topics button could get a buff.
Yeah I’ve always thought a shoutbox kinda thing that stays on what ever page you are on is a good idea, direct communication right at your finger tips. Although I fear this may take away some potential posts from the forum as everyone would just be nattering there instead.
July 3, 2013 at 10:14 pm #1248090Yeah it does kinda take away from the forum posts but if you limit it to like 140 characters like on twitter it would be ok.
July 14, 2013 at 10:36 pm #1248073AnonymousNo, at the moment I wouldn’t change anything.
July 14, 2013 at 10:39 pm #1248074AnonymousPlease, Louis, Can I post already?
Thanks! -
