Dr B’s already done the most sensible/obvious improvement I could think of, which was splitting the drugs section into subforums for different chemicals!

There is nothing I can think of really…. I love this site. But the way you have streamlined the forum sections are really cool.
                  Thanks!

When typing in the chat, if i move the cursor with the arrow keys rather then the mouse it will change from type mode to normal website view mode, so when i try to type again it acts like the keyboard is just for shortcuts, i.e. backspace will go “back” on the web browser to the last web page viewed etc. (firefox)

this drives me mad as i’ve lost massive chunks of writing from accidentally doing this.

as a fairly new person to this forum, I had to respond to this..I have tried to make convo’s with some of these people and have even tried starting a couple threats. One went well but the other was all some bullshit..maybe im just unfamiliar with British humor, which is quite possible, but you get no reliable help @ all ( This has nothing to do with the cite itself)..Which I think is really nicely set up..I would like to see a ska section, but this doesn’t seem to be the forum for that.

I dont think a little nakedness allowed would be so bad either. Finally I think there should be an anonymous topic..

I think a lot of it is British cultural differences. Many people even in relationships do not especially now with the economic depression make a big thing about stuff like Valentines day, or they are either single or happily married/in long term relationships with young children, and thus don’t want to spend loads of cash on themselves as their kids are now already school age or reaching that age (children are expensive high maintenance creatures).

poly actually explained much of the British attitude to Valentines day which may be an American import.

Also we are not prudes, but if we allow nudity and anonymous topics the forum gets swamped even more with spam (including potential computer virus files) and trolls (in fact we had anonymity until 2005 and people simply abused it).

There are thousands of people especially in Asian countries looking out at all odd hours for forums with any security weakness in what will take advantage. Plus the kinds of folk in our country what want to exhibit themselves naked tend to be the ones you would not want to see. Certainly it would “scare the horses”….

But even just some threads I read the people just kind of have a crappy attitude..maybe a rating system would help…I’m a newbie though so what do I knw, discouraging though..I would think that whoevr runs this website, would want 2 grow it. Unless I’m just in a uk forum and didn’t knw.

I bet poly would love there to be a nakid thread here. *sniggers

TBH there’s loads of usefull info on this site, most of the new people comment on how there’s alot of good info here. The thing is when we get asked the same questions over and over and over again … the answers can get a bit silly because it gets tiresome tending to people who can’t use the search facility. At one point there was about 100+ threads on mephedrone all asking the same thing. I’ll be fucked If I’m writing the same thing 100 times. 😉

this certainly isn’t a “UK” forum, its international and anyone who is willing to be part of the community is welcome.

I would say its a very “European” forum, and increasingly “North European” and our cultural attitudes do reflect that. We do not do the “false optimism / friendliness / consumerism ” that seems to emanate from the USA and has also sadly contaminated a lot of Asian culture (hence our problems with spammers who are really just Asian college kids who are so focused on their small side businesses they forget us Europeans don’t like being sold to in this fashion).

Also European kids are going through a fucking hard time at the moment.

their fun activities like drugs, partying etc are being increasingly scrutinised and judged by people in authority, and often and its getting worse with the economic depression as the rest of society no longer wants to subsidise or tolerate young peopels hedonism and drug use if it costs public money (bear in mind we get stuff like hospital treatment etc for “free”, and there are a lot of welfare benefits in Europe compared to the USA).

Older people (those with the jobs, money and power) were once willing to overlook the costs in good times but the good times are gone and not coming back.

As an example two young lads I know recently went to jail for 4 months merely for holding a rave in a forest, 10 years ago that never would have happened but the Forestry Commission said they were damaging the environment, and also the lads didn’t have jobs and they were on welfare benefits or in social housing anyway so it didn’t cost the taxpayer that much more to send them to jail.

I also can understand Dutch and recently joined a similar forum to this and an American (assuming they could understand the language too) would actually find the way the Dutch interact with each other very blunt or even rude, but they (and British people) aren’t as unfriendly as they may seem, however its clear from also reading this forum that across Europe, people young and old are getting a bit less friendly. its not a disaster or social breakdown, its what happens when there is economic depression but genuinely good people are welcomed and supported here.

Ya, ill say! This definitely isn’t the friendliest forum..maybe just culture differences, who knows…who isn’t going through hard times though, shit everyone I know is nt just europe…I know I’m one poor bitch, but I also believe what comes around goes around…there are people who use these forums 2 make friends and meet people, this 1 makes that hard 2 do..who knows, guy asked a ? And I answered it..maybe this just not the right forum for me..( Sad really hopen 2 meet some cool pep)

There is a wolf pack mentality from a few on here alright. Take the way princess (a giddy, harmless kind of eejit) was spoken to, not right.

                                            And that ‘suspect

is the police’, stops alot of people going any further than one post on here. Some might say it’s their own fault for not reading the tread, but the same people that say this will reply to someones post without bothering to read what the tread’s about, and you end up with a page or two of three worded posts that are meaningless to anyone except a handful of people in and around Aylesbury.

If you could make the mobile phone version simpler, what might be handy on a computer is a time consuming hindrance on a phone, but then i cant edit my posts or like comments, so it might be my phone

One forum that I use for finding squads on battlefield has a shout box at the top of the forums section. I have found it very handy for dropping quick posts down to grab peoples attention. Take a look BattleStrats Community Forums I dunno if it can be aplied to vbullletin cos the use ip.board for their site. but as I say I would use it quite a bit for dropping bits of news in the feed quick and maybe then make a thread about it while the masses are reveling about my news.

also I would like to see the active topics button become bigger better and have some flashing lights around it. Nahh seriously I sometimes think the active topics button could get a buff.
