Had my Xbox for years too given I used it as a media server, DVD player, games console, TV catchup service and what not perhaps possession wise its high up there. But then easily replaceable so perhaps not. The Wife would be harder to replace she is difficult to get off of ebay.

Look at you objectifying women you sick sexist pig! :laugh_at:
I made a joke towards my gf the other day about her being an object which she brought up later on or the day after to remind me how good it was… I thought it was in poor taste but quite funny but obviously not in her book

Yeah why play online for free with a Sony SpyStation when you can pay memberships to play with an Xbox lol
TBH all tech stuff is obsolete within a couple of years so phones, consoles etc could never make it in to my favs, they simply dont last long enough to become attached to and all like-for-like replaceable for a few quid

TBH Ive played both and the games are nearly identical, certainly no difference were picking one over the over, network security & reliability has been an issue for some in the past though never for me and as I understand it those problems have been fixed…….
BUT you hit the nail on the head with familiarity and social groups, people rarely change console, they like to stick to what they know, and their choice is usually based on what their friends & family have rather than specs.
Still I would be more likely to put my Speccy 48k ( which has sat in the attic for 20 years ) in fav possessions than a PS or XBox, the speccy has character and far more fond memories. I have no more personal attachment to my PS3 than to the TV or the toaster, if it breaks or when it becomes obsolete I will simply sell or bin & replace it.

I don’t know – for example, I like Fable, Halo & Gears of War which I wouldn’t be able to play had I got a PS3. I’ve had friends switch from PS3 to Xbox and they did prefer xbox but maybe that’s cause the majority of us were on there, although they had their own mini circle of ps3 heads.
Meh i’ve had an xbox since release which is what 8 years? That’s half of my life and i’ve had some fucking good times with it, including 18 hour sessions with like 12 mates just chatting shit on the mic. Ahhh you got me reminiscing now.
