November 4, 2006 at 6:48 pm #1092022i buy mainly hardstyle since thats wot most of booking are for. Only buy vinyl aswell, then if they arent fast enough to get to 155bpm i wack them to mp3 and play them on a cdj.
Finding it quite hard to find decent hardstyle tho, get a good few promos sent to me tho and they are normally pretty cainin.
November 5, 2006 at 1:26 pm #1092019perhaps less and less people are actually buying stuff nowadays and everyones just rinsing the P2P networks – but people aren’t really admitting it…. :hopeless:
November 5, 2006 at 1:31 pm #1092026True GL.. but there are those of us who will always buy vinyl.. coz its the best….:weee:
November 5, 2006 at 6:20 pm #1092027Mostly techno these days with some breakbeat and hard dance thrown in when I find a good ‘un. 😉
November 6, 2006 at 12:20 am #1092036Mostly techno on vinyl – odd bit of house/ breakbeat/ d&b/ downtempo. And the occasional CD from amazon- chill out / shpongle etc.
November 8, 2006 at 10:18 am #1092037I dont really stick to Genres or indeed even know what they are these days (freeformhappyacidtechnojazzbass anyone)But buying mostly CDs or downloads now and Vinyl only if I positively cant find it on a digital format(coz making digital files from vinyl is a right pain.

I am signed up to a few of these mp3 sharing forums but thats due to me findin aload of mine and ice’s material up for illegal down load and had to sign up to them to get the admin to remove the tracks for download.
November 9, 2006 at 2:16 pm #1092028Mainly Techno, Electro and Breaks with a splattering of IDM (which I define as Intelligent Dance Music, but most of that would be under the same genre’s just more intelligent!).
The difficult thing I find is placing music into genres. A lot of the techno I listen to like Detroit stuff people would say is house because they only class techno as hard as nails tunes and aren’t aware of its roots. Same goes for Electro and the current wave of Electro Clash which are 2 different things in my mind. One being a derivative of the old Street sounds and original techno sort of stuff and the other 80’s synth pop which has been revamped.
Its all house music essentially and its a massive subject of which everyone has a view point.
Being open minded and liking what you listen to is what I do. I don’t think I must only listen to one sort of style else I would be missing out on so much more!:bounce_fl

Thats why genres are created to explain what version of it (house) you like. Its just from the old skool point of view when we all new it as one….aaahhh memories and less confusion, or was that total confusion :crazy_dru
Maybe what I am trying to say is that like the old days a lot of the music now is crossing over into others and the lines a re-blurred some what. I just find myself having to be very specific sometimes to explain what I am into, and mostly end up saying I like electronic music which seems to include everything!
November 9, 2006 at 6:54 pm #1092035do you need to ask, no need for over seas goods, I buy British born and bred JUNGLE/DRUM N BASS/OLD SKOOL
I love it so much that as I am single, jungle has become my new boyfriend  and I am going to spend all of next year making speakers designed for BASS!!
I need to learn and get good.:bounce_fl
November 28, 2006 at 6:31 am #1092030All of the above, and lots of other stuff….
I listen to it, and buy if I like. The only places I wouldn’t buy from are the ones with no recorded clips for me to hear…..
As has been said, it’s all house music…:weee::weee::weee::weee:
November 29, 2006 at 9:08 am #1092039i think all music on the net should be free, and the only person getting paid should be the artists performing live, dj’s and sound systems. cut out the record companys, theres no need for vinyle nowadays, its enviromentaly damaging, plus you can play 24 bit files in most media players (cd quality is only 16 bit) time to move into the 21st century
