I used to have a decent collection but as someone has already said you just totally forget the name of them after a while.

A classic tune for me though is a trance tune by RALPH FRIDGE’ its called PARADISE! check it out .

Couple of years old though

i’ve also been digging live / dj crossover stuff

krush has been doing it in a delicious textual hip-hop style for years, transglobal underground have been at it for years in a world way, up bustle and out have been filling the time between journeys of a lifetime with aural diaries of their adventures.. 😎

i love the spontaneity of live music and the energy you can feel flowing between musicians… mix that up with the beats we can’t stop dancing too and i’m getting sweaty

used to love me hardcore but i think my taste is changing for some psy trance, but the only stuff i hear is off di.fm, so if anyone could recommed some good mixes e.c.t on c.d and where to get ’em, cos i cant afford a p.c in me room, i’d well appreciate it

what is schranz? I guess its a European term. Perhaps its what we call “hardstyle” here in Britain?

Your right it’s a European term, but it’s more along the lines of heavily distorted hard techno, the wikipedia definiton is:

Schranz is the name given to European hard techno, a style of techno typically around 140-150 BPM and based around massively bass-heavy kick drums, driving percussion and distorted, looping synth noises. The term originated in 1994 when Chris Liebing used it to describe a certain type of techno in a record store he ran; it has no particular meaning in any language. Some important producers in the genre are DJ Amok, DJ Rush, Sven Wittekind, The Anxious, Arkus P, Tom Hades and Patrik Skoog.

I must admit I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to schranz. Only found out about it last night in the chat room.

Maybe I listen to it already but haven’t labled it as schranz?!

Some music genres are escaping me the older I get.

clarkee, HMS and scorpio were wicked.

i had all my favourite hardcore recorded onto a minidisc, i tried erasing 1 track but accidently erased the whole thing – the next time i tried playing it, it just said ‘BLANK DISK’. I was gutted – spewing.
