Pretty much me and a couple of my mates are desparate to put on a party! Unfortunately we are worried about the consiquences of doing an illegal event! We want to find a venue in oxfordshire where we could hold a party, that could go on till late(we’re finding it a struggle to get somewhere that will stay open past 12!).
Also we want it to be loud!!!!!
I’m just getting a bit frustrated because we have been talking about it for ages but it never ends up happerning.
We have all the equipment we need (although with any profit we will be beefing the sound and lighting up!)
Can anyone suggest anywhere good? We dont wanna go to far from home.
Anywhere in oxfordshire/buckingham area (i’m slap bang in the middle!)
Cheers Ruff Beat
May 1, 2007 at 10:48 am #1104047if you can find private land / property you can apply for a Temporary Event Notice
May 1, 2007 at 10:56 am #1104052Where would you get one? Town hall mabye?
Also how much would that cost???May 1, 2007 at 1:43 pm #1104044A TENS is 21 quid. if you use our search you will find a few threads about them. They have been successfully used before in some areas.
May 1, 2007 at 1:46 pm #1104056I know it might sound obvious but have you tried googling for venues?
I just quickly did a search and came up with a list of halls in Oxfordshire
http://www.oxfordshire.co.uk/data/sub0491.html
Not much info there but you might have some luck that way :bounce_fl
May 1, 2007 at 1:49 pm #1104045you may be able to apply for a TENS to get extended hours on a hall (assuming the hall hasn’t already used up its years allocations)….
OTOH a lot of halls are in quite residential areas, the ravers in East Anglia have run into problems with their hall parties..
May 1, 2007 at 9:43 pm #1104053The only problem with village halls is they are used alot by the community. We have thought about using some halls in the villages around where i live but haven’t due to the fact we know the locals will go mad!!!
We dont wanna upset anyone by throwing a party we just want people to be all smiles!!May 1, 2007 at 10:30 pm #1104048ask some farmers round the pubs
May 1, 2007 at 10:39 pm #1104050get down tetty pub mate, we got plenty of farmers round ere. i’ll get my arse into gear and go n ask one, he had an all night psytrance fest on his land last year, but apparently got a thousand quid for it. so dunno if he’d do it on the cheap.
May 2, 2007 at 7:07 am #1104054Lol might be able to stretch to £100 you up for putting in the other £900 Tek?

We dont wanna upset anyone by throwing a party we just want people to be all smiles!!You will probably find the local halls wont be rented out for partys. They all got rinsed drum n bass style and the owners hated every minutes of it. Plus silly rulse such as : no beer, no smoking No doing this ETC!
Then again that was a year ago or maybe 2 so asking cant do any harm.May 2, 2007 at 11:03 am #1104059in newbury we have a centre called ”the waterside”, it isnt a town hall but it is owned/funded by the council to run events for teenagers and kids alike, do you have an equiv centre?
i can get you the centre in newbury but i believe you said you didnt want to travel far …
May 2, 2007 at 10:09 pm #1104049i held a party in a scout hut in rochdale last year. the guy gave me the keys, left me to it, and i dropped them off the following day.
cost £100, but i prob could have beat him down further, they were strapped foir cash & were chuffed to rent it out. i know you can hire out a scout hut in hebden bridge too, so maybe down your way also…?
May 2, 2007 at 10:27 pm #1104055Yeah you can hire the scout hut out in my town but, as someone said above there are lots of rules! No smoking drinking ect ect. I know it does’t sound that bad having to go out for a ciggy but i find people just end up spending the night outside in big groups shouting and cheering instead of avin it infront of the system!!!!!!

all the good areas have been rinsed bare, its smaller than East Anglia and there are way more cops
friends of mine have had rigs confiscated and not returned for 2 years and got fined £2000 per crew (8 crews, so £16 000 in total)..
thats why he wants to do legal ones…
