Pony shocks shoppers at store
Shoppers at a 24-hour supermarket were left shocked after a Shetland pony walked into the store and began wandering the aisles.The pony walked through the main entrance of the Pengam Green Tesco store, in Cardiff, on Thursday.
It neighed loudly several times before leaving the supermarket of its own accord.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “It didn’t cause any problems but it made a bit of noise and it shocked a few people.”
Wild horses are known to live on Pengam Moors, a few hundred yards from the Tesco store, but the spokeswoman said the arrival of a pony in the shops aisles was a “one-off”.
She added: “We don’t know where it came from. It was in the store for a couple of minutes and wandered out of its own accord.”
One shopper at the store, Luke Hart, 25, from Newport, told the South Wales Echo newspaper: “It gave everyone a shock, and I think it was pretty scared itself.
“I had picked a few items…suddenly, a loud shriek came from behind me and I turned round and saw a Shetland pony had gone through the main door, past the barriers, into the main store and had begun to look around. “It whinnied three times quite loudly and everyone seemed stunned.”

Yna, gyda gweryriad bach, allan â hi heb oedi rhagor.
Dywedodd llefarydd ar ran y cwmni na wnaeth y ferlen ddim achosi problemau ond roedd yn gwneud tipyn o sŵn ac roedd nifer o gwsmeriaid mewn sioc.
Mae ceffylau gwyllt yn byw ar fryniau Pengam, sydd nepell o’r archfarchnad.
Mae’n ymddangos bod ein bargeinion moron wedi denu mwy na’r siopwr cyffredin yr wythnos hon

“Dydan ni ddim yn siwr o lle daeth y ferlen,” ychwanegodd.
“Roedd yn y siop am rai munudau ac roedd yn crwydro ar ei liwt ei hun.
“Mae’n ymddangos bod ein bargeinion moron wedi denu mwy na’r siopwr cyffredin yr wythnos hon,” ychwanegodd.
Dywedodd un siopwr wrth bapur newydd y South Wales Echo bod hyn yn fraw i bawb.
“Dwi’n meddwl ei bod wedi dychryn,” meddai’r siopwr Luke Hart, 25 oed o Gasnewydd.
“Glywais i sgrech sydyn a throi i weld y ferlen yn dod i mewn drwy’r brif fynedfa ac yn edrych o’i chwmpas.
“Mi weryrodd dair gwaith ac roedd pawb wedi synnu, ond mi drodd yn ddigrifwch digon buan,” ychwanegodd.
