Hmm – The woman who complained is the same one listed on the BBCs report for last year when a rave happened in a similar location. Curiously, it appears that she did not even make a formal complaint which she could have done in confidence, but chose to talk to the media instead.
The BBC are not the old bill, even though some of their investigative reporters like to think that they are.
What did she expect would happen – Dick and Dom would turn up instead to pelt the ravers with creamy muck muck? 😉
or maybe she was cutting people a bit of slack, leaving this news report as a warning that others can hear the noise you make and they are disrupted..
Illegal rave monitored by police
Police failed to close down an illegal rave early on Sunday after telephone calls from local residents. About 50 people gathered in a building on a farm at Litlington, Cambs, just after 0100 GMT and more arrived later.
Police said they had no powers to remove the equipment as no official complaint was made, but dozens of people came and went during the night.
Police turned away vehicles and monitored the event for trouble, but loud music lasted into Sunday morning.
A police spokesman said farmers blocked off places where raves could take place, but had overlooked this building on this occasion.
Local resident Alexandra Jarvis said that the music was very loud at first, but after police arrived it became quieter.
“It is the second big rave we have had in the village. We made a complaint last time it happened last summer,” she said.
