I’m a mosher/rocker converted to raver. In terms of electronic music I predominantly listen to hardstyle and a bit of dubstep every now and then. Most 80s and 90s electropop and trance is good too. I have a massively varied but peculiar taste in music. If your music makes me nod my head or even better headbang then you’ve won me over. Unfortunately your music does not have this effect on me but I’m sure it will on some; just as some of my music that I think is ace probably makes a lot of people cringe lol.

Haha! Nice. I’m curious what you’d think about some of our other songs… we’re doing some harder stuff as well as the lighter vocal trancey dub stuff. *Don’t you just love my categorizations?*

I’ve only posted the lighter stuff because thats primarily the area I’m in charge of ;P the other half of BluStar actually wants to experiment with mixing metal ish elements with electronic… maybe having scream type vocals mixed into a really hard electronic song. I’m not quite a believer yet because I’ve never been into metal. But again, out of curiosity, what do you think about that idea? lame or no?

Not entirely sure what community stations are; but I’ll definitely research it and take a look at how I can best put forth the music I make. ^.^

A community radio station is a low power Band II (FM) radio station with around 100W transmitter power covering a town or a few blocks. it may seem small but 100W in the right places goes very far. they tend to attract a more diverse less mainstream contingent of presenter, and more younger people. They are also licensed by the Communications Ministry to discourage the more rebellious lot from setting up pirates.

Mr Obama has only just started the licensing process last year but you might find one in your local area (look on the FCC website or a site called Prometheus). They are also called LPFM (Low Power FM) stations. Usually there will be at least one in your town/city either active or starting up.

If I remember later on I’ll check out some more of your stuff on soundcloud. If I find anything I like I’ll let you know. Personally I think when done right metal music (instrumentals and vocals) is surprisingly versatile. It can take practice but you’d be surprised how some heavy elements borrowed from the metal genre can integrate very nicely with a heavy electronic beat. This is evident in a lot of early hardstyle music. Unfortunately now hardstyle has become commercialized and has lost a lot of its original underground sound, a lot of it is now cheesy.

Good point… I’m gonna jump on the ‘fuck the haters’ bandwagon and just not really care anymore! Everyone has an opinion; why should I listen to the pretty much only negative feedback I’ve recieved? I think I might use what they said about certain things in the song to fix it more but the whole “you should just give up” vibe I got, well… FUCK IT. Not gonna happen. 😛

Thanks for listening; this was done in one sleep deprived nighttime session so it definitely needs more work but i think its a decent start. 😀

Exactly! If it’s pretty much the only negative feedback you’ve received, then ignore it dude. Just keep doing your thing and don’t tell them about any more of your stuff. 🙂

Good point…! This person actually owes their day job to me ironically. Haha. I get free entry into their shows as thanks… They’ve always been super critical of me personally, because I guess they think it drives me to succeed… they’re not a rocker at all; been into electronic music for a loooong time though. Honestly sometimes I wonder if they think I have potential, so they’re trying to piss me off into getting better. LOL.

On the other hand, I’m a sucessful gogo dancer so maybe they just want me to not focus on music instead. LOL.

Ha ha, true, maybe they want you to dance for the rest of your days! If they’ve always been super-critical of you anyway, then I think if I were in your shoes, I’d probably fuck ’em off and not have anything more to do with em – they don’t exactly sound like they’re supportive of you. If anything, you’ve been more supportive of them by getting them a job despite all the negativity they aim your way.

I don’t mind it, but I admitedly listen to some pop (not much though). Did I hear a dubstep part? It’s not bad, just needs some work in the future.

is the person giving the criticism an older male? this is a rather creepy domination/control technique used within the creative industries to groom younger females (both juvenile and adult).

The offenders can be quite friendly/pleasant but when they encounter a more stronger, confident girl/woman who asserts herself start getting abusive.

Its a big problem especially in creative organisations – in the UK a very large number of older celebrities have recently been arrested and investigated for this kind of behaviour dating back to the 1960s and the national BBC is under global scrutiny due to issues regarding severe bullying of staff especially younger workers and females, and its happening on places like the highbrow intellectual radio news shows, not just in more drug friendly scenes like pop music.

Creepy… and yes, this person is older and male…
I would like to think that they’re above that sort of thing, though, idks…
I know another girl thats gotten creeped out by him before…
