Thanks to some resourceful people on here and an Indian chap with the right connections, I have now obtained a quantity of Modafinil raaa
Its not even illegal to buy the stuff provided you don’t try and pose as a doctor! I did spend a week checking the relevant laws and loads of medical sites..
TBH I’m not intending it to be used as a “rave drug” (as autumn pointed out in another thread its a more “normal” sort of buzz but because I’ve got a busy schedule with work (two major projects on the go) and sorting out my house in case my mum decides to pop round as she is back in England for a bit..
I took one at 11:00 – it probably won’t affect me yet because I deliberately ate loads this morning (as stimulants need an energy source) will be interesting to see how this affects me.. (used to be a fairly heavy amfet user, so it can’t be as bad for me as what I was like before..)

February 9, 2008 at 11:57 am #1154963I managed to find my heart rate monitor – resting heart rate 87bpm (checked only 10 mins ago so the substance could be starting to affect), although now occasionally going up to just over 100bpm.
I think increases should IMO take into into account that wearing a fairly uncomfortable sensor round your chest and reading medical websites at the same time might just have a slight effect of increasing anxiety :laugh_at:)

Haha i’d imagine it would have an effect! If you start feeling dodgy go outside and sit in the sun (although that depend whether or not it’s sunny by you!) Chill out in the fresh air that’ll sort you out!

February 9, 2008 at 2:36 pm #1154964for me “dodgy” is only after a gram of base, and lines of ket and coke and 3 days staying awake…
Its about 2.5 hours since taking the pill, definitely feel a sort of “buzz”.
Hard to explain but its not a massive “rush” and massive rise in body temp/heart rate like amfet or MDMA, but a good mood and a feeling of motivation/awareness..
there’s a minor effect on my stomach and slight dehydration (the sort of normal things you would get from a stimulant) but nothing like the equivalent effects of dexamfetamine.
average heart rate 107 when active, about 101 sitting down dropping to 99. This is only a very slight increase considering its a stimulant, but the energy and motivation is definitely there…

February 9, 2008 at 4:55 pm #1154965I’ve not got a webcam…
TBH this sort of buzz isn’t the sort of “blam! I want to go stomping to repetetive beats” sort of feeling – its like clean speed without the sketchiness/paranoia.
Have experienced a minor headache (common side effect) but no worse than that from amfet or MDMA, for which I have taken 200mg ibuprofen.
At 15:00 – I took another 200mg of Modafinil – bringing the dose to 400mg, equivalent to the most commonly used dosage pattern in the military trials.
I definitely feel a bit more “buzzed” (but still on a level) but this hasn’t significantly increased my heart rate (still about 100 resting). Even moderate exertion does not raise this all that much…
I feel a bit “warmer” but no major rise in body temperature like what amfet normally produces…my brain is definitely sped up, I noticed a slight tendency to mistype on this small laptop keyboard (because my brain is going faster than my hands).
No bodily discomfort though – other than this damn heart rate monitor sensor!
I may be off to Diss later this evening to catch up with Mudstomper and a few friends from that way, and if this feeling carries on I probably won’t even want any more substances during the night!

Modafinil does enhance the effect of other stimulants
For instance I did do two very small lines of MDMA (far less than I would have done at a rave at the weekend late on Saturday (after most of the modafinil would have worn off.
It was like I had done half a gram – not too unpleasant and at no time did I feel particularly uncomfortable/unwell.
I didn’t get much sleep on sunday though (
If you time it wrongly when you still have other stimulants in your bloodstream though I expect it could be a bit sketchy
Quote:btw did you notice any any change in the size of your pupils?,no noticeable change. There is no real outward affect that you have taken a strong stimulant.
also whats with the title of the thread?
its an NHS slang term for a human who is being treated with an experimental drug.
This is an intriguing substance. I defnitely wouldn’t class it as a psychedelic or rave drug, but it is more like “work safe amfetamines”. Loads of professionals are using this stuff regularly during the workday with no paranoia/sketchiness etc and acheving loads, yet it doesn’t knock out your sleep patterns as much.
Quote:p.s how much for how much did you get of the modafanil?£32+£5 p and p for 50 x 200mg tablets. (This is the Indian modalert stuf, exactly the same thing. The yank suppliers are a bit of a ripoff IMO)
Considering a 100mg dose will get you though a normal day and 400-600mg is a dose used if you needed to stay up 72 hours, this is remarkably good value.
