Ok soooo this saturday night, it’s fabio and grooverider playing the main room at turnmills :weee: it’s gonna be slammin, a real drum n bass fest, and in the other room it’s hardcore gangster Hip Hop ! it’s gonna be an explosive night !!!!!!!!!
Real explosive…….Cos the club runs 10pm till 6am……..
Except at 4am….the nutters have booked in G.A.Y. in for a morning after party…………….
Ok lets look at the facts.
1) Disco Biscuit fuelled Drum ‘n’ Bass clubbers dancing all nightraaa
+
2) Smoked up Hip Hop gangsters giving it large :groucho:
+
3) Poppered up G.A.Y. disco boys and girls with full on feather boa’s leather chapps, jaunty hats and tight T-Shirts, all giggling.:bounce_fl :laugh_at:
=
Lots of bad looks and possibly dead people !:you_crazyOk now i would like to point out at this stage i am no homophobe, when it comes to peoples sexuality i have no opinion what so ever its up to them. So please no “homophobe” comments in the following threads.
But come on you have to admit it’s not the best idea in the world. I know it’s london and people are more chilled out but you are mixing a group of people that do not mix outside a club and will not mix inside a club.
What do you guys think ?
p.s. i’m going anyway just for the music !
June 29, 2006 at 9:56 am #1080642Personaly if i was gay, an there was gangsta hip hop nxt door id probably stay away, but it doesnt really sound like an event that gangsta blood types wud go to, more like an event when you can just listen to the music, coz gangsta hip hop is phat tunes with stupid as fuk lyrics
all rudes are in2 grime now anyway, they dnt care about the fake americans ne more, rude boi london tings is all priate radio and illegal raves (giving us a bad name) init blood

Havent got a lot of these things in Denmark 🙁
but it if was here i would go for sure..
June 29, 2006 at 10:24 am #1080636I can see what sjbr101 is worried about; and he is no more homophobic any more than I am racist for regularly using the term “Londonistan” (the city in which I was born and brought up!) in my posts.
London isn’t “chilled out”! People barely tolerate each other because they are squeezed together, and there are about 4,000 cops as well as MI5 et al watching over them 24/7 so if people kick off its eventually dealt with.
We live in a capital city where people are prepared to fight and kill someone they don’t agree with for any reason (not just gay people) – I reckon many rudes are so full of hate they know they will go to HMP if they kill someone but will sit there for every day of their stretch unrepentant and feeling what they did is right.
So those who put on social events have to be prepared to deal with the effects of this hate and mistrust. But these problems have been ongoing for 20 years or so and Turnmills are old hands at this game.
Clubbers do try to escape for a few hours from this sort of aggressive mindset and thus endure each other a bit better – I don’t think there is as much intolerance in clubland and if there was a real chance of trouble promoters (either with or without “advice” from the cops) would have rescheduled things
I expect cops and bouncers are already on standby to stop the usual shit such as CS being discharged etc as this happens to clubs anyway just due to promoters rivalry.
meltown is spot on about the Londonistan scene – right up to the fact that there are illegal grime events as well. would explain why you increasingly see armed response units lurking around in the background at London raves when cops arrive.
June 29, 2006 at 4:58 pm #1080638have a good one sjbr1012
June 29, 2006 at 11:10 pm #1080646Money grabbin club owners with no concern for their patrons enjoyment/safety.
June 30, 2006 at 9:18 am #1080637to be fair I do think the promoters would have thought about any potential trouble (or to be more precise cops would have made them think about this)
All London club events are closely monitored by Scotland Yard’s CO14 Clubs and Vice Unit)
If a club becomes known for trouble of any kind its license gets put on review and more conditions attached (for example the Fridge now has to send the cops details of all DJ’s, promoters etc and the cops do a check on each one)
I think events like this have happened many times before without problems; and TBH I don’t the promoters would have been so stupid as to unwittingly create a flashpoint and in conjunction with the old bill they would have put measures in place to deal with any potential violence.
If this wasn’t the case they would be putting all their future events in jepoardy.
June 30, 2006 at 10:54 am #1080643I agree with you General, it’s all got very closely monitored over the last few years. I can remember when Club UK got raided out of the blue ! that shocked everyone. Anyway anyone else going on saturday ? you cant miss me i will be the tall guy (6’2″) with the spikey mohawk style hair, ‘my name is earl’ moustache and the Yellow tint aviators on ! normally found dancing like a nutter with a few girls attached. If your in the club on saturday night my name is toadfish.
June 30, 2006 at 11:02 am #1080639AnonymousOMG – that sounds like a description of me but im 6’4″ with a mohawk, bleached and auburn elsewhere with no grade.
