Our soundsystem held a midsummer beach party in fife, scotland. During which our generator(borrrowed for the occasion)was stolen, leaving a couple of hundred people very upset at having their night ruined.imagine if you will-a dj in mid set-off goes the power-by the time a crewmember got to the generator, only the sound of a fading engine could be heard. What kind of scum would do such a thing,to go against what the free party community stands for like this is beyond MY comprehension
July 8, 2002 at 4:40 am #1061154We have found out who took the generator-it was stolen by another squad of dj’s,who run a club in Edinburgh-more details soon
July 8, 2002 at 11:58 am #1061150Cheeky bastards!
July 15, 2002 at 7:02 pm #1061155Given that the free party runs on cooperation and trust,i think the theft of our generator is a crime not only against us ,the soundsystem, and the owner(it was borrowed in good faith)but also against our loyal party goers, who’s night was ruined at midsummer. It is in this spirit of cooperation that i believe the free party community can best take action,by boycotting any club nights or parties run by or featuring the people who stole our generator.First among the theives was David Mitchell aka DJ Mitchell aka Mitch-a DJ from Kelty his club nights are mainly in Edinburgh-clubs are-“Rotation” and “Digital”,which have been held at a number of venues through the city. Also in on it was Mitchells girlfriend,Shona-she drove the getaway car and one of thier crew-a guy called Hilly from Kelty now in Dunfermline. As if the theft wasn’t enough,he has now sold it on-for a tidy profit no doubt!-this guy is ripping us ALL off-let’s put a stop to it.
July 15, 2002 at 7:18 pm #1061151how did you find out who was responsible? has anyone confronted them?
July 16, 2002 at 10:04 am #1061156info came independantly from several different people-all have heard it straight from the horses mouth-as they(the theives)have all been bragging about it.
July 16, 2002 at 3:37 pm #1061152have you decided not to do anything about it?
July 16, 2002 at 8:16 pm #1061157Don’t worry Dr Bunsen we’re not the kinda people to go off half cock.We made sure that the reports coming in were checked and to begin with no-one wanted to believe it as the guy who stole it was at one time a respected mate of ours.We have also confronted him(in a non violent way)and given him the chance to return the genny with no questions asked,we were refused.
July 17, 2002 at 3:54 pm #1061153I’m glad to hear it. Let me know what happens though eh…
July 17, 2002 at 7:36 pm #1061158Cheers for your concern Dr Bunsen, its good to see,as on some other sites similar to thjs one that i have posted on,i have received ridicule and disinterest
July 27, 2002 at 11:47 am #1061159Had a hilarious run in with dj mitchell on the Pure website forum.well worth a look,as its filled with contradictions, lies and nonsense.

We are back.
Our crew held the first free party since the theft of our generator at midsummer last weekend, and it went really well.Feels good to be back on track!December 29, 2002 at 5:21 pm #1061149AnonymousI hope you beat the thief into a stupor. I would make him march around my next party w/ a sign that says ‘I am a thief’
July 24, 2003 at 11:19 am #1061161That is truly shocking mate. I’m glad you are back on your feet.
I’ve heard of generators going “missing” but never DURING the party!!!! Just live in the knowledge that you are obviously denting his oversized ego so much that he has to stoop to do such a thing. Lets hope his club nights fail misserably. -
