what causes sound is effectively pure energy causing vibrations, your ears amplify the sound and the brain interprets it, so it wouldnt technically make a sound

do an experiment, sit a deaf person and a person with hearing in a room together and bang a drum. The sound is definitly there cause the person with hearing would be able to hear it.
also its not just your ears that can recognise sound. I cant remember the name but there is this woman who plays a xylaphone (sp) i think its the metal or wooden thing, not sure, but shes competely deaf and plays it perfectly, but doesnt wear shoes on stage, so she must interpret the sound thru the vibrations from her body and feet.
ps my brain hurts.

It may not be recognised as conventional sound tho :backtrack:
What about the tree that falls in the forest and no -ones around to hear it does it still make a sound?
my head really is about to explode now!
