This video is epic. I dont usually like thinking about this kind of thing too much, but when something this scientifically discovered is just a bit mind bending.(specially on drugs).. When the sun shows its true power, then just fades in to a tiny star?

July 23, 2011 at 1:09 am #1242418this is so sick man, like you said, if you try not to think about it you don’t feel as much like a microbe lol
this kinda explains that the ‘possiblity’ of there being life out there is 100% garennteed i think, to many galaxies not to have lifeJuly 23, 2011 at 2:38 am #1242412This does it better
Scale of Universe – Interactive Scale of the Universe ToolI find the ‘smallness’ far more fascinating than the ‘bigness’

July 23, 2011 at 10:40 pm #1242411I allways imagined we are tiny organisms living on atoms (our planets) that make up a much bigger universe that we can’t comprehend.
July 23, 2011 at 11:12 pm #1242420oooh i feel sooooooooo insignificant……..
mindboggling
July 23, 2011 at 11:38 pm #1242421we ant even in the middle????
July 24, 2011 at 4:35 pm #1242414We does the scale of the universe make people feel insignificant? Aside from the fact significance is a human construct and it is entirely up to us how much we attach to ourselves, the size of the space we inhabit isn’t what is relevant, but the complexity of the information we have developed.
Humankind is incredible despite the rubbish aspects of it

from the perspective of the ants or the Gods?
or
perhaps we just dont like to blow our own trumpet
but decided on neither and shall instead go and eat dinner.
July 24, 2011 at 7:24 pm #1242415From the perspective of the most complex thing in the known universe, ourselves. We should blow our own trumpets, we’ve come so far and our knowledge is increasing exponentially
We may encounter something that outclasses us one day, and I hope we do, but until then we should not be meek just because our container is vast

July 24, 2011 at 8:09 pm #1242422July 24, 2011 at 8:22 pm #1242416It doesn’t make sense to talk about ‘the middle’ of the universe as it is a system that loops in on itself, like walking around the surface of the earth. Every point is ‘the middle’ to you if you’re there.
