I toasted Hunter S Thompson when he passed away a few years ago, just as a thanks for the books & the weirdness……..I didn’t break down in floods or anything It just felt right to pay my repects………everyone should be allowed to do so!
i wasnt really sad as such when hunter s thompson shot himself, was sort of gutted that here was not gonna be any more books by him, but also respected him for doing it on his own terms if you know what i mean esp after reading his suicide note. i suppose i will also feel sadness when terry prattchet dies 🙁 cause i went to see him when i was a kid and i grew up reading his books… but i will not be making a pilgrimage to his hometown or go to lay flowers at his grave.

Still slightly sad to see him go though…..
I like a bit of Terry myself……another one who is looking at suicide (assisted) as an option…
Myself Im happy to pay respect to people who have affected me in my own way……. some (lots of) people feel the need to do more….people are strange……..but have every right to be!!
I do have to admit though that the media coverage of this has been overblown & there has to be thousands of people out there have just kind of gone with it without really feeling anything……kind of think that this is maybe what Obama touched upon with his comments……“There are certain people in our popular culture that just capture people’s imaginations. And in death, they become even larger. Now, I have to admit that it’s also fed by a 24/7 media that is insatiable.”
July 8, 2009 at 11:17 am #1203081people have the right to be upset if it is soemthing that is genuinly upsetting to them not to latch onto others grief to show that they loved him more or they were the bigger fan etc etc. Im refering more to the whole diana thing really as ive been pretty succesfull in avoiding anything jacko related recently..

July 8, 2009 at 2:25 pm #1203097It’s Jade Goody all over again. Every single news piece lately is about jacko. Fucking load of bollocks. Fair enough he made some good music (20 years ago) but it’s not like he was the fucking messiah. He was a weird fucker who touched little kids. All these people crying publicly over someone they’ve never met and probably didn’t even think about until he died makes me sick. Get over it for fucks sake.
Rant over, now for the jokes.
Jade Goody and Michael Jackson walk into a bar………………… :crazy_dru
July 8, 2009 at 2:45 pm #1203130Day 96 and Jade Goody has a new house mate
Jade Goody is standing at the gates of heaven waiting on the bon accord man to come and give her a glass of lemonade. Well someone told her the king of pop had died???.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

July 8, 2009 at 3:34 pm #1203119Im undecided guys….all the people that knew him closely seemed to love him….ok he was fookin wierd, but who in the history of mankind has has ever been put under the media spotlight to that extent, others who have come close have all gone a bit loopy…Maria Cary, Britney Spears…….it seems too fuck you up royaly..
I think i may have agreed with you both yesterday but watching his daughter talk about him so affectionatly has made me think twice…(that was a natural outpouring of emotion & not media BS)
and as for comparing Michael Jackson to Jade Goody….tut tut…..she’ll be forgotten shortly….Jackson has a legacy to leave behind…

July 8, 2009 at 6:42 pm #1203099SweetAss;339467 wrote:and as for comparing Michael Jackson to Jade Goody….tut tut…..she’ll be forgotten shortly….Jackson has a legacy to leave behind…I’m not comparing Jade Goody to Michael Jackson in the physical sense. I am however comparing the media frenzy that comes with a celebrity death ergo it being jade goody all over again. The media try and squeeze out as much shite as they can and i think it’s a bunch of arse.
I guess i just don’t care about the celebrity world as much as others. Also how some people get angry over someone they’ve never met and at people who make jokes, More often than not it’s people jumping on the grief bandwagon cos they don’t wanna get left behind, Makes me fucking LOL! :you_crazy

I have other jokes if you’re interested? I’ll admit it was a bit shit. Should have some decent ones for ya soon!
