hahah yeah! i lost about 5 minutes of exam time though cos i had the giggles. who said nerds don’t have a sense of humour!
what exams are you doing at the mo?and GL – the guy said that anything that was deemed “unneccessary” for the exam was prohibited. it was about a metre wide though, don’t even know how he managed to smuggle it in ^_^
and mungo!! you are welcome to come to psychology with me tomorrow if you need some fresh air! i know it’s a bit cramped under that bed ๐
June 6, 2011 at 4:11 pm #1213644Hi Juniperus ,
Dammit lol its the only bit of the exam i might have known and they never asked it lol …..just as well i wasnt taking the exam :-O . It went well though …..yes ? . Is it Birds next i cant remember ?regards

what exams are you doing at the mo?Seriously that’s some awesome move. If someone tries to say something funny all the examiners go, ”Shhhhhhhh >:(” lol Hmmm Today I had Animal Morphology basically everything about pretty much all animals. (This semester it was Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds (Aves) and Mammals). I have Organic chemistry on Wednesday! ๐

MungoNahh all of them were due today so next is organic chemistry ๐

ohh yeah the grouchy examiners ๐ we had a nice one today, everyone was asking him stupid questions like “where do i write my name?” and he just thought it was funny.
ooh sounds like you do something similar to me, ish. are you at uni? animal morphology sounds fun. can’t say i’m an organic chemistry fan though. i dropped chemistry earlier this year only to start on biochemistry in biology ๐ seems like it won’t leave me alone!June 6, 2011 at 4:33 pm #1213848I LOVE biochemistry! I know the lab. is a bit hard but I love it! hmm I did my internship in a hospital’s lab. on biochemistry for two different summers!!! I have a passion for science… except physics. :/ Organic chemistry is fun. It really depends on the lecturer though. Yes, I’m in uni and I major in biology. How about you?
June 6, 2011 at 4:41 pm #1209819Anonymousexcept PHYSICS?! physics is the superior science! ๐ i get what you mean about the passion for science though.. it’s all really interesting.
i do biology, physics and psychology a-level. how are you finding biology compared to a-level? i’m considering applying for a biology course next year, it’s between that and psych ๐ or maybe both.June 6, 2011 at 4:49 pm #1213651Hi you two ๐ ,
Physics is maths ……no one likes maths …..unless your carol vorderman in which case she does and if she had been my Maths teacher im sure i would have done to ๐ ……oh well wasnt to be lolregards
Mungo
x=<3 …..see why i failed my maths lolJune 6, 2011 at 5:07 pm #1209821Anonymous@mungo1972 438378 wrote:

x=<3 …..see why i failed my maths lolphysics is the exciting part of maths ๐ the “lets get a rocket into space” or the “lets try and make the biggest explosion we can” part of maths. it’s completely changed my way of thinking. i took the course for the astrophysics module but it’s got me interested in more than that. although i almost had a brain annuerism this morning when i was trying to get atomic line spectra into my head 15 minutes before the exam. but no pain without pleasure i say! ^_^
June 6, 2011 at 5:35 pm #1213664Hi Harriet ,
You mean all that playing with fire works and other substances that go bang when a patch is thrown at them is Physics ๐ ….then i am a physics nut lol . I want a job that involves demolition ……it brings out the big kid in me ๐ . When i was abroad once we had an EOD ( Explosives Ordinance Disposal ) …i think ? . Anyway they had to blow up aload of faulty amunition and pretty much anything else that was out of date cos they didnt want to take it back to the uk . They wanted us lot as fire cover incase anything caught fire …….unlikely as it was just dusty earth with the odd bush here and there . So they let us make bombs with the Plastic explosives ๐ , we didnt put the detenators in as thats the dangerous part . However we got to do the count down and press the button ๐ , i loved those few days , making big bangs and getting paid for it ….so much fun ๐ .So if any of you do a bit of demolition on the side and want a helper im ya man ๐

My lecturer was a ”lazy bitch” who couldn’t be arsed explaining anything so she just gave us a copy of questions and answers that we had to basically memorize for the exam. I barely passed it. Never took physics after that. I don’t know A-levels I’m not familiar with the UK high-school system because I finished mine outside. My boyfriend is English so he’s the only reason of me being here ๐ I’m barely getting used to the system. Anyways, I took four years of biology during my high-school and they were all simple versions of what I’m studying now. you know you start with general biology and then go deeper and deeper and try to study every little detail. I suppose you’re studying in a college now?

ps If only all Physics involved the big bang loli think explosions is partially a chemistry thing too but my physics teacher is a bit of a pyromaniac. we do “starter exercises” sometimes where he’ll give up some random equipment (like a powerpack, a reel of wire and some tissue) and see who can make the biggest fire/explosion ^_^
that sounds awesome mungo! would be my dream job 8) but keep your demolition business away from my house! ๐June 6, 2011 at 6:18 pm #1209825Anonymous@Juniperus 438400 wrote:

oh i understand. i’ve been having huge issues with a psychology teacher who is exactly the same. she just gives out sheets and lets you leave 40 minutes early from the lesson ๐ it really sucks. it seems like schools don’t do anything about it either cos it’s really hard to sack a teacher.
ahhh i see. yeah you study 2 years of science that pretty much everybody does (although i did the triple science so it was a bit more detail) and then i picked it for 2 more years of study so i expect it’s the same sort of thing. i think (from the courses i’ve seen) that you do the same basic topics for university as a-levels but instead of spending 3 months on them you spend a year on them. do you have any idea what kind of job you want to do?June 6, 2011 at 6:20 pm #1213677Hi Harriet ,
You ever seen cotton wool soaked in liquid oxygen then ignited :-O …..boom ….i love stuff like that . Although liquid oxygen does scare me a bit ….and electricity ……and those moving stair things …..oh and the dark ๐ . No worries its the job of all bed trolls to protect houses so your house is safe ๐ . Unless you leave it …in which case it is then classed as abandoned ……then its BOOM !!!! ….ah pretty fire works ๐regards
MungoJune 6, 2011 at 6:23 pm #1213857YES! I’ll probably work in a research lab after graduating. I’m looking forward in majoring in molecular biology as my masters degree subject and then maybe a PhD and if possible I’d like to have my own research lab. ๐ I haven’t really looked into my job options in England but I’d have to start looking around next year! My CV is pretty good though so I think I would be able to find a decent job until I’m done with finishing all the degree that’s needed to open a laboratory of my own! Stem cells sound fun?
June 6, 2011 at 6:46 pm #1213686Hi Juniperus ,
Im no expert but stem cell sems to be bring all the latest break throughs …..could be the answer to alot of illness …lets hoperegards

awesome! you can employ me 8) hehehh. stem cells sounds interesting! i studied it really briefly 2 years ago, there are interesting ethical arguments for it. molecular biology also sounds great but we’ve touched on that and trying to remember names and functions and blahblahblah is too hard! i like the human part of biology. like disease, the heart, cardiac system and such. the problem i find with trying to find jobs or work experience to do with science is that (maybe not for you but for me at the moment) i’m not qualified to do the stuff i’d like to try out so i can’t do it :p if that makes sense. like i can’t just go along to a mental hospital and work there for a month obviously.
