today i had a day off,

no sign of mars yet (sorry GM – i sat out all of last night looking!) but got some alright pictures of some other stuff. i took it on a point & shoot cam because my mum took my DSLR but tonight i’m going to get out with my proper camera and try and get some less blurry shots :weee:

the star is Arcturus which is super bright (brightest in the northern hemisphere), it’s really beautiful to look at cos it’s so shiny :weee:
and if you don’t know what the other picture is of then i’m very disappointed.i also have some pictures of Alkoid and Dubhe but i think i’ve bored everyone enough for today

Great pictures my girl 🙂 , but im sure the last pic on the right is just a bit of cheese !!!! 😛 . Still waiting for a picture of uranus by the way 🙂 lol . Will we be able to see the last ever shuttle in orbit at night ? , or is it out of our vision ? . Well look forward to a nice pic of uranus , tricky place to land there lol over shoot and your right in the poo 🙂 …….im sooooo funny lol …..not .regards

my brother still thinks that the other planets are made up, he thinks i drew the picture of saturn =.= there’s no way we can be related.

:love::love:You see the blue and orangey bit round the outside of the star … this indicates what direction the star is going and iirc how fast it’s traveling. I think the tail of the star is the darker colour and the brighter is the front so it’s traveling towards the blue bit … i couldn’t tell you how fast it’s going tho lol)

really? i assumed it was the light diffracting on the mirror of my scope, acting kind of like a prism. but that’s awesome, i never knew that.

well it might be … but i do knopw that the colour of a stars outer extremities tells you info on it’s movement due to the way light bends diferantly at diferant frequencies … it’s worth looking into it as my memories a bit sketchy …

July 12, 2011 at 4:26 pm #1209879just spoke to a good friend about going out to kenya with him next year and staying for 6 weeks (his aunt and uncle are missionaries) and helping them build a school like they did last time, with the Masai tribe. sounds amazing and i hope we get it sorted! only issue i have is that they have a very bad and degrading attitude towards women, i’m not sure i’d like experiencing that. so i’m still a bit undecided. don’t wanna get sold for a couple of goats O.O

ahhh you should do it! i know someone who has just gone over to venezuela to help on some project. would be SUCH an amazing experience!
July 12, 2011 at 4:53 pm #1209881yeah, it would be such a character building experience! no makeup, no straighteners, no internet.. but it would be great cos i’d be with some good friends and we’d all be doing something together to help other people. last year they went and got some amazing pictures, except i wouldn’t like having to kill a goat and then eat it 🙁 i think i’d probably not eat out there or pack a case full of bran flakes. it would also been an awesome way to end college next year, before i head off to uni 🙂

i find it all the same tbh, well actually the best i had was this indian batch this guy messaged me online he had about 2 months ago until paypal started chasing him and he had to stop selling it. was the nicest cleanest crystals!
