Does anyone have any idea what the biggest, most powerful, most amazing rig in the country, if not the world, might be? Do you recon you know of such a rig? I can imagine on one off events, many rigs have come together to make one almighty sound system but i wanna know of an independent rig that works by its self and kicks ass over all the competition, if sucha thing exists.
The most amazing sound system i know of is the iration steppas sound system that plays regularly at the west indain centre in leeds. Not sure these guys do free partys but id love to have free outdoor parties with their equipment. Ive never heard bass like it before and would love to hear something that can beat it.May 24, 2004 at 4:02 pm #1061773Don’t know about the most powerfull. But the best quality free party rig i’ve heard is the planet yes/innerfield system.

The full Sokaid/Oblivion/Phantom linkup (although this is actually several crews who usually put on parties together and share a lot of equipment, personnel and resources!)

I recon the more musical styles at a party the better. the addition of smaller chill out rigs makes a good party amazing. Native Beats ahve been tryin to sort a dub reggae/ hiphop/ downbeat rig to enhance our parties for a while. shouts out to unity soundsystem for answering our prayers on a couple of occasions.
thanks for the oblivian collective info- our members are all a bit preoccupied and busy gathering strenght, but there are always a couple of people and a bit of equipment up for a moot. with a bit more organising, we could be a lot more active and useful. did i mention we have a projector?
My favorite parties are about 200-600 strong, any bigger and it becomes too anonymous and te vibe gets lost, or the energy is too diffuse..

As a start, I would suggest rendering a few jpgs and uploading them to here – then as time permits perhaps an mpg or avi file showing a virtual camera panning and zooming over the venue?
June 4, 2004 at 12:14 pm #1061765Recently, the Home counties and anglian rigs have been joining forces to do what we call community parties using small pieces of rigs such as STS, B’SKAN, VISION and others. At some point they’ll all be going out together in their full state (totalling at about 60-70K)

Although the community have been holding phat parties for many a year, its only since the recent loss of the skan rig that we’ve been seeing all the community rigs making up for it with combined parties.
Although I have to admit that while STS holds great parties, their style of tekno is a little too hard for me to stomp unlimited to. There’s only so much gabba that can be handled in one nite!
Personally I have been loving the recent parties held by the Slack Banta/ Real Eyes rigs (e.g the quarry party last weekend.) Lots of bouncy old skool tekno, and Acid Tekno is just the type of music that I cannot sit down for.
Looking forward to the massive link up though!

As for rigs – I agree with BOTTROP – the Valve system rocks.
The 100k of geigh (that was actually about 86k) was pretty phat tho.
As for individual rigs, I think the Enginearin Sound System beat most rigs hands down on the party scene.
July 17, 2004 at 5:58 am #1061769Valve sound system Dillinger. Man i went to a Dillinger night in Notts at the Garvey. They gave you earplugs at the door!! i didnt use em but wished i had……. 3 days later that tshhhhhhhh sound was still in my ears !! was a wicked night though..^_^
