Met Mr Pratchett at the old broomcon near Ipswich twice, sound fella, damn shame, his writings have helped me through some hard times when I haven’t been able to concentrate on reading anything more heavyweight 🙂

December 15, 2007 at 12:00 pm #1126825I like his writing,
Its such an awful disease, and the early stages can be totally frustrating esp as you know whats starting to happen. My aunt developed it early / youngish and she too is at the stage of not remembering who I am and looking like an ‘old’ woman, when she was always really vivacsious and ‘young’… :hopeless: she’s also got to the stage of hitting people
they have started her on ‘aricept’ which is maent to ‘slow the process down’ but wont ‘cure’ it

December 15, 2007 at 11:38 pm #1126822My grandad died last year after nigh on a decade of going down hill, he’d got to the point of assaulting people 5 mins after they’d arrived in his house thinking they were burglars, it’s a shame to say and a right corny line but I know it’s easier for my grandma now his gone as she was his full time carer, in the end he couldn’t even recognise her 😥 It’s a damn cruel disease
