im prepared for cynical replies as it would have been one i would give… perhaps its nothing, but ive just got in home and feeling a little freaked
me and a friend of mine decided it was a nice enough night to go buy a pizza and sit up at donnington castle, its a 14th century castle that was a big part of the battle of newbury in the 17th century civil war… its at the top of hill which overlooks newbury, really nice to watch the sunrise over the town or see the lights at night.
anyway we were sat there and the sun had gone down and there was a huge pink cloud over the castle, me and my friend both remarked how strange it was as there was no sun and it the wrong place for reflection from the town lights.
we were sat chatting away like we always do for an hour or so, then i noticed this really odd light in the sky…two bright and big for a star and it was dancing around a bit… most definatly not a plane, then it disappeared and about a minute later reappeared to the right hand side of the sky, my friend said straight away ‘thats a UFO’ …i was like yeh yeh whatever, do you really believe that, he was like most definatly – ive had experiences before of them… me personally, ive always been extrememely extremely skeptical but something felt odd in my gut and this light was getting bigger and closer towards us.
then suddenly to the right of us, a rumbling began, it sounded about 10-15miles away but like it was be very loud, enough to set a nearby car alarm off, the rumbling was definatly not thunder or fireworks, it sounded so surreal and i said instantly that sounds like warfare to me, luke just said calmly, it definatly does can you hear the sound of whistles and yells, he then said rach im not being funny but out the corner of my eyes i can see lights beginning to move in the trees around us… i said yeh me too and theyre becoming more and more, i dont wanna stick around for whats going to happen lets move, then whilst grabbing my stuff i saw a red light move across the trees near the gate at the bottom of the hill, we both were like fuck lets move now, put my shoes on the wrong feet and pegged in down the hill and towards the car….
ive never ever believed, but i really really felt the presence of some strong energy happening in the surrounding area of the castle, it was more the sounds of rumbling and rabble that got me though, something not from this dimension, and you can think im overreacting but it felt more like the lights in the sky had sensed it too and were coming to spectate, the direction the noise came from was the same direction that thousands of people died in the civil war.
feel free to be skeptical but any views or similar experiences would be great, i just felt it completely in my gut and feel a bit freaked…

August 30, 2007 at 10:24 pm #1118938Nice story Rach (didn’t mean ‘story’ as in it’s made up)
Although I would have been some what terrified I wouldn’t have been able to leave, I would definitely have stayed as that’s an experience you don’t get to live very often.

August 31, 2007 at 6:01 pm #1118943see ive never had fear of the supernatural or other life forms before, whenever im out in the dark i only freak myself out by thinking about dangerous ‘humans’ …and i always thought that if i ever felt the presense of something supernatural that i would always want to know more about it, but it wasnt until the lights moving in the trees all around us began that i began to feel scared, i never expected to feel like a presence of something so strongly, like right in my bones…. the lights in the sky felt something new and interesting, the rumbling felt ancient and powerful, but the lights in the trees felt sinister and wrong… and once i saw the red light my brain went into overload thinking about stuff like the moth man and im not a particularly curious person so i was ready just to run!!
luke, who i was with, says hes had two past experiences with what he believes 100 per cent to be UFO’s and one, not so long ago happened up at greenham common air base and his friend has suffered severe depression sinse that incident so he was as ready as i was to run!
i dunno what my views are on extra terrestrials, but the loud rumbling noise felt something other than that… i woke up today feeling a lot less freaked out and quite postitive about the whole experience
