Sorry to post this everyone, but where is the thread for this?
Search isn’t really that useful… The first results are from like 1995 :you_crazy
June 8, 2008 at 12:38 am #1173938I don’t know. Has there been a recent thread? Did you go?
June 8, 2008 at 1:14 am #1173957just got back-wicked little festival.
June 8, 2008 at 11:13 am #1173937Anonymousnot been since 1996 used to be good, still suposed to be a good day out..
June 9, 2008 at 12:21 pm #1173951Aye was alright. Took us ages to get sorted to go though, only decided I was going at 1pm.
Anyway got there, and fucking hell, Cambridge is the worst place I have ever driven around in my life. CYCLISTS! EVERYWHERE! None of which know any highway code, just going around parked cars regardless of which side they were on, resulting in me having to swerve and been ever 2 minutes. Also pedestrians were no better, just walking all over the road, literally, just walking down the middle of streets. Soon moved out the way when they had 2 seconds to live or run 😀
Also got a parking ticket, along with loads of other cars I saw, which I am appealing against, as I was parked in a marked spot, with absolutely no yellow lines.
Was good when we got there though, loads of people, and loads of stalls and tents. Not really our tunes, but still fun anyway. Spent loads of time loosing each other and having proper pointless phone convos trying to hear each other to meet up again.
Pity at the end of the night I saw a huge fight behind the circus tent. Around 50 people going full on with chains, bottles and loads of other weapons. No idea what It was about, but was not stopped in the 15 mins I was saw It. Ive seen plenty of fights, and group fights, but this was savage. People screaming and people getting broken bottles rammed into their faces ect ect.
Oooooother than that, was pretty good ;D

Nah I just like stuff that aint as popular as the norm. Well seems that way. Everything Is like slow techno. I like me hardtek ;D Or just generally anything fast and hard I can go mad to. I especially love oldskool techno, but no fucker ever plays that. Ive raved to one set about a month ago on a legal night by a local crew. It was fergus, and was a fucking wicked set. Loved every second.
At the fair was some reggae, which is nice to listen to, but not to dance to. Also some punk and other acoustic stuff. Was a DnB rig there too. Actually forgot about that, we went to the other side of the fair, it was well to packed around that area.
June 9, 2008 at 4:17 pm #1173950Haha Dom reporting on the scene XD
Shame about that fight ¬_¬June 10, 2008 at 9:45 am #1173958We was there till after midnight, complete;y missed the fight. Saw a couple of small townie scuffles. was this the circus tent across the road? As far as the music goes, it is more band orientated which suits me. Saw Senser on main stage at the end who were fucking awesome. For a free fest it’s well worth it-good atmosphere, but heavy-ish OB presence.
June 10, 2008 at 10:20 am #1173940Copied my post from another thread to here, as it’s more relevant . . . .
Wasn’t up for going to SF. Was knackered from work. But my sister is here for the weekend  (she lives in nottingham) and had never seen my son’s band The Shivers play live, so had to be done.
I was a very very proud mummy, they were headlining the Acoustic Bar, they’ve done about 8 SF’s i think now.
And they were awesome! I prefer them live as there’s always the added comedy/fun element, the in-between songs moments, always a friendly and lively crowd. We got slightly messy – before we went heehee – and the lift we got in took us straight back to the car after The Shivers. Halfway home – i thawt Hang On i didn’t go to the green and yellow tent or anything noooooooooooo!! 😥
SF should be a 2 day thing so u can go back the next day to go round stalls and stuff – i wanted to buy a program and just wander round. Used to be a major day in my social calender. Yesterday i spent more time getting ready to go – than i actually spent there wtf :you_crazy
Is it me or do the ‘yoof of 2day’ hurtle through life in such a rush, they miss half of it. I just see people cramming so much into a day, no time to stick around and see what else is happening! busy busy busy. raaaRoll on next year!
June 10, 2008 at 3:49 pm #1173948Yet another, wicked SF!!
Always bump into loads of peeps from all over, i love the fact that people make massive missions to go there!
Got there about half 2/3ish and fought my way through the crowds to watch my mate reading poetry on the blaggers stage, which was a right giggle! Then, just milled about, drank stella, smoked spliffs and ate food. Was aaaaaaaaaaall good! Also my mate was beatboxing on the main stage which we went to support then that was followed by a rather phat dubstep set from some geezas from burwell. Then reggae, then a SHIT set from ed cox, then a rude bwoy set from mds on the main stage. Fun!!!:crazy_dru All this followed by sitting round my mates till bout 8am sunday plying myself with various kemikals. YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! VIVA LA STRAWBERRY FAIR!!!!!:bounce_fl:bounce_g:
June 10, 2008 at 5:52 pm #1173939Was the first one I’ve missed for about 5 years. Always good to catch up with people. Do normally just spend the whole time charging round and round catching up with old faces.
Spent a very wicked weekend in Brighton instead. Climate change conference, meeting up with old flatmates for thai food, and stumbling round all my favourite bars.
Beaut of a weekend.

June 13, 2008 at 2:52 am #1173956Anyone else think Cambridge is a fucked up place to drive? Had to beep at loads of cyclists and people that kept going all over the place like they were riding/walking in the park.
Also got a parking ticked. Cunts.
