August 17, 2008 at 2:18 pm #1177844i got stoped and searched coming out of a station in london last night .. was highly imbarsing as my cosin had come to visit me from asutralia and i had to spend like 15 mins up against a fucking wall looking like i had done some thing wrong b4 they finaly found nothing on me and let me go .. unbelivable .. they treaded me like i had commited a crime the whole time .. i was disgusted :yakk:
August 17, 2008 at 2:25 pm #1177838Boris Johnson put the entire Met area on Section 60 shortly after he came to power. This is from the same law used to close down illegal raves (CJA 1994) and means the Met can now stop and search anyone they feel like in any area.
similar things happened in the 80s, there was a riot but then not just a further lockdown but loads of “capital flight” (i.e people with money to invest moving away) from those areas, which is why some parts of South and East London have been just getting worse despite efforts to regenerate them.
We as a country have learned absolutely nothing from the last 25-30 years :hopeless:.
