February 5, 2008 at 11:29 pm #1154672My son’s just chucked a wobbly cos his went wrong :you_crazy The air was blue in our kitchen lol.
He’s usually spot on with the pancakes, and he brags loudly in the run-up to pancake day. But it all went badly wrong, in front of younger girlfriend he was clearly expecting to impress, and now he is in his room listening to loud rock music, girlfriend probably soothing his tethered nerves! Really, it’s only pancakes, but you’d have thought something real tragic had happened the way he was shouting and banging about lol. He really isn’t equipped for things like ‘pancake disasters’.
Don’t mean to be sexist here – but is it maybe a ‘bloke thing’ – like barbeques in the summer, stereotypical types of blokes, beating their chests and claiming to be Chef of the Year etc? :laugh_at:But – while i was frantically looking for google help with pancakes, i found this funny blog by a man who has clearly done battle with his own pancake day issues. . . . 🙂

February 5, 2008 at 11:49 pm #1154673Aah – bless him he has gotten over his little sulk – he sounded well chuffed as he hollered down the stairs jus now, ‘AHA! IT WAS ALL YOUR FAULT MUM!’ – Took him a whole 15 mins to come up with how it couldn’t have been his fault!
Reasoning behind this? . . . Well,
we had both agreed, pre-pancakes, that the mixture should stand for about 30 mins. He said it should ‘stand’ in the fridge, but i said room temperature was the way. (That is how i have always known it to be, and my dad before me, who was THE undisputed, and, in his lifetime, unbeaten Champion of all pancake makers :weee::weee:
I just tried a few sites to check my facts, but found no mention of the ‘fridge’ part of the equation. So i don’t actually know for sure if he is right or not – )Anyway, I just replied that if it made him feel any better to think that i ruined his pancakes, then i was fine with that!
You’d never know he was 23, ffs! 😉February 5, 2008 at 11:49 pm #1211922Aah – bless him he has gotten over his little sulk – he sounded well chuffed as he hollered down the stairs jus now, ‘AHA!
