June 13, 2006 at 9:58 pm #1078761I try and live my life this way these days, if I’ve got soemthing to say to someone I try and say it…have the difficult conversations.. if you can.
I cant say its always an easy ride but, weighing it all up , I genuinely think its better than not.

i tend to go for the truth; life is too short to be lying about what you think or being someone you are not
as you say its not always easy but its definetely worth it

I know for myself i probably should learn to shut up sometimes instead of beeing thruthful..sometime you hurt people,by beeing honest..

But when you have said the words you cant take them back again. You
have to think very carefully about it before you say somthing..IMHO.
Have FUCKED up really bad at a few occations.June 14, 2006 at 10:44 am #1078770ange1 wrote:I just think you can be to honest,i have lost friends because of that..

Have FUCKED up really bad at a few occations.if my friends werent honest with me they wouldnt be my friends; i have lost people i thought were my friends through being honest but with hindsight they had an ulterior [hidden] motive for hanging out with me which had nothing to do with being my friend:you_smart:you_smart
there may be better way of saying certain things but i dont hang out with people who i cant be honest with; what is the point of having to watch everything you say to people- you cant relax; :bounce_m::bounce_m:
i find most people appreciate my directness and honesty; probably because those who do not are not the kind of people i like any way:bigsmile: i also find it saves a lot of time and life is too short as it is
i find that by coming out and saying what i really think i have been able to reach people who others have written off as a waste of time because they trust me to always tell them the truth regardless of the fact they dont like it; they know exactly where they stand with me and what i think of them:crazy_fre this allows them to move forward in their lives knowing someone accepts them for who they really are:bigsmile:
:rant::rant:i am no longer in the business of saying what people want to hear for an easy life; this was a hard learnt lesson and i wont forget it; i will always be who i am and i have learnt to love myself just the way i am [even though there are parts of me i dont like much] even if others dont appreciate me as i am.:rant::rant:
You can only be yourself and, if you are pretending to be someone else to make someone happy, you are hurting yourself to do this..:you_smart At the end of the day if you cant love yourself for who you are it is unfair to expect other people to; get to grips with who you really are; accept yourself and be that person while working on the bits you dont like to improve them – it can be hard work but gets easier as you keep doing it. :bigsmile:If you are happier those who love you will be happier too; those who are not supporting you in this change are not true friends:rant::rant::rant:
ok rant over [you hit on one of my soapbox subjects][something i feel very strongly about as you can see]
back to lurking in my cave

how did that person justify this point of view? -
