Personally I hate living in London during the world cup… last night was the first occurrence of drunken singing in the streets keeping me up. My office is covered in world cup posters and my inbox is clogging up with sweepstake emails.
Bah, humbug.June 9, 2010 at 11:24 am #1226882Couldn’t care less about the world cup, as long as France or Germany don’t win.
June 9, 2010 at 11:28 am #1226906heh any particular reason? apart from good old fashioned xenephobia?
June 9, 2010 at 11:28 am #1226870There’s something i find a bit disconcerting about 20 men running up and down a field chasing a ball!
June 9, 2010 at 11:37 am #1226910Going to the pub to watch it on Saterday as the misses wants to, not a fan really but dont mind trying to join in.

i have tried to get invovled for the community spirit.. i remember sitting with all my student mates in teh common room.. england was in the semi finals or something.. we nearly scored a goal and everyone in the room jumped up and went wild.. i sat there going ‘hmmm.. not a flicker of emotion’
i tried

drunk townies tend to make comments yeah, especially if their football team has just been knocked out of the cup in the first match by one of the worst teams in the world.
Less trouble then when I was a goth however
June 9, 2010 at 3:40 pm #1226844I’m well looking forward to the World Cup. It is going to be wicked event.
I don’t want any other country to win it. I’m England through and through and I wanna see England mop the floor with the septics on Saturday.
Also I am looking forward to next Friday as me, my cousins and my mates are going down the pub to watch the game and then get fucked afterwards.
Can’t wait. C’MON ENGLAND!!! raaaraaaraaaraaaraaa

Wash your mouth out! :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
June 9, 2010 at 4:44 pm #1226837I enjoy watching a game of footie,
esp down the pub
like the spirit of watching it with others – however I do not want to kick anyones head in or get narky if the team I am supporting looses – and that is a side of football I dont like –but they’re just up for a ruck any way and footie gives them the ‘excuse’… :you_crazy
However not too happy about getting Hondurus and germany in the sweep stake :laugh_at::laugh_at:
I think we’re off back up to the midlands to wacth it with Marcus’s ex-flatmates as Ian brought a 42 inch tv :weee::weee:

June 9, 2010 at 9:14 pm #1226847That was so 6 years ago man.
June 9, 2010 at 9:22 pm #1226871It cracks me up about how people still go on about winning the world cup in 66 … that’s only 20 years off being in the same history lesson as WW2 :laugh_at:
June 9, 2010 at 9:30 pm #1226848Yeah man innit. We really need to win it again, People can’t keep using the 66 win to fall back on.
On a separate note, I’m going to place a bet on Greece being knocked out early. I hope I win!!
June 9, 2010 at 9:33 pm #1226898nah… bets lying on being in the last 16 😉
