I drive past them all the time, we used to call them the salt and pepper pots when i was a kid. They’re well interesting to look at, i don’t think they’re ugly at all. I’m sure theres a thousand and one cool things they could do with them instead of knocking them down.

As industrial buildings go they do have a nice shape – quite clever in fact that curve (a hyperboloid I think) is super-strong to prevent stress fractures from the force of the wind which is huge on such a large thing. I bet the accoustics inside them would be awsome – put a big sound system in the middle and see how it works 😉
