I like the way you move!!!

So then what are we all up to tonight then?

I myself am off to see my cousins band later tonight. My family is quite large and Irish to boot so it’s always good going to these events as we all tend to get fucking battered and have a good old bash. raaa

Misses is out, so a pizza and some xbox. Got myself Call of Duty 4 so have a play through that I think. Cant remember the last time I had a fun night out, sucks totally, but at least I am going out most days now. 2 hour bike ride ftw! sooner I get well the sooner I can have a social life again.

its a fucking shame the decent nightlife is non existent here (I no longer bother going out at weekends any more, its shit and not worth the risk in Ipswich, and I’ve heard Stow is even worse despite (or because?) its out in the sticks!

it seems in EA that people won’t try and rob you like London but might stab you just for disagreeing with them (or competing for the attentions of a girl) – “banter” can turn into something nasty within seconds – yet ironically if you keep your head down you’re safe – but who wants to have to be like that on a night out?

yep they are actually shooting at each other which is rare in SE Asia. Its become difficult to call my mum which means the mobile phone networks are being controlled/restricted by the communications ministries of each nation which is normal procedure in emergency situations…

yeah head down dont stare at anyone in the eye, sounds like nothing has changed in the ten years ive been away then! stow has always been like that tbh. :you_crazy

i used to know this prick that got locked up round b4 i went to uni that used to hang around outside jokers and wait for people to come out then start a fight with them. he got locked up for chasing this kid into a car park that looked at him funny then stomping on his head and pissing on him. total scum. gave the guy brain damage for the rest of his life. :yakk:

cant belive the situation in bangkok tbh, when i was there it all seemed a bit like a festival atmosphere, couldnt have imagined it would have gone like this. Remeber when i went to find that psytrance stall cafe the taxi i was in had to drive between a line of riot police lined up and on the other side all the redshirts. fuck trying that now! :hopeless:

I’ve got the reputation for being fairly quiet/shy at parties / in crowds but a lot of this in recent times is because I’ve noticed there are loads of lads on a short fuse what want to prove themselves – and they don’t care even if they are gonna go down for 20 years or more, they seem to think prison is worth it provided they’ve hurt their opponent enough. Worse, from researching my local history it seems they were like that even when violent criminals got hanged..

the real shame is those bad attitudes were starting to affect the rave scene by the mid 2000s.. 😥

everyone I know has said avoid the place (or stow as a whole on weekend!)

If that place were in Ipswich it would get a closure order put on it, but maybe its better to have all the trouble in one place under CCTV then cops can ensure that people are acturally caught for it..

when I was last riding to Mudstompers I saw more police cars in the area than I normally do in Ipswich! The cops now have a Stowmarket Rapid Response team which made laught at first, then I had a look at the crime maps and realised why they were there and that they are actually needed :hopeless: (300% increase in domestic violence and violent crime in some areas, its only 70% increase in the worst parts of Ipswich!)

for me its like going back to the 1980s round here but not in a good way…

one of the worst things is that i bet if i did go down there tonight (fuck that btw!) that id recognise people that used to go down there before i left for uni and have been going there for 10+ years. pretty depressing really. :hopeless: not for me tho i find it fucking hilarious that there still going there, gotta be a pretty soul destroying routine for them though, work at the chicken factory during the week then dukes or the oak and jokers or xcels at the weekend! :yakk:

some things have changed – its harder for locals to get jobs at the chicken factory now due to competition from the East Europeans who work harder and don’t complain as much (take time off) – and there are less drugs as people have apparently been grassing up one another.

what did piss me off is the young’uns found a perfect empty building what would have made a excellent squat/info centre like they are doing in Brighton but it got smashed up instead and people busted for burglary/criminal damage…

yep I heard about that. I’ve also noticed a lot of warning signs saying “THIS BUILDING IS OCCUPIED” in half empty office units around Stow…

the youths genuinely squatting in that area are OK, but they do get a lot of hangers-on what make life worse for them. there used to be loads of Stowmartians on this forum a couple of years back but they all disappeared as soon as zero tolerance kicked in, I wonder what happened to them?

the ones what were on here seemed fairly alternative though – but maybe the culture is that shallow.. :hopeless: also a lot of the girls fall pregnant at a relatively young age (compared to London or SE England anyway) and thus (understandably!) drop out of the alternative scene for a fair few years.

what I don’t understand is the surrounding area appears to be really Green/right on so you’d think there would be more of a alternative nightlife :you_crazy

                                                  actual press release..

Stowmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) seized another car last month after the driver received two section 59 warnings in less than 12 months.

The car was seized on Stowupland Road, Stowmarket on Saturday 24th April by PC Stefan Henriksen who was patrolling on his bicycle at the time. He says, “I received a report of careless driving and then saw the vehicle drive past me in the opposite direction. When I turned around, I was going downhill and quickly caught up with him. I pulled him over and have to say he was quite embarrassed being caught by an officer on a bike!”
