we all laughed at that pic back in 2004
then it got circulated again, early 2005 along with various other people committing sexual acts and going to toilet in public and full view of the camera, allegedly from czechtek. It was on a website with some commentary in Czech – none of us understood the language and what it meant so we all laughed once again
but then a lad who understood the writing said “danger, this is anti czechtek propaganda” – it also turned out that people (in CZ) had been sending these pics to the national media and police and government saying “this is what goes on in these festivals”
In 2005, a thousand riot police closed down Czechtek. The prime minister (a really young man the same age as some of the ravers) justified it as he claimed (amongst other things) people were “committing acts of debauchery and spreading diseases”. There were protests, but they were also “robustly policed” (they beat a few people and shot some squatters dog in front of the crowd), and after an intial attempt to charge the cops with brutality the govt let them off all the charges.
No one laughed this time round.. (there was one more czechtek but commerciallised, and controlled to the point that no one does it any more).
Worst part of it is apparently not all the incriminating photos were from Czechtek anyway :hopeless:
