Waited for my bus for 2 hours in the fucking snow while it was still snowing, freezing my tits off and then he finally got there and tried to be cheeky but the mug regretted that.. :you_smart:get_you:

January 17, 2013 at 11:49 am #1129384Woke up to a cold house as condensate pipe on my boiler (a long outside run due to where it is positioned) iced up this morning and caused condensate to back up (so that it makes a noise like a gas-powered digeridu, and eventually shuts down on a safety/fault code). Did not have time to unfreeze this pipe before driving to work, so had to shut off the heating and will therefore return to an icebox once again. TBH I’m sure the energy used in boiling kettles of water to pour on the condensate pipe is more than the saving of energy from having a condensing boiler in the first place

January 17, 2013 at 3:38 pm #1129385it is lagged. No amount of lagging will keep out cold like that from a outside pipe run of about 5 metres. the kitchen is getting rebuilt anyway soon so I will see if this pipe run can be brought inside (it wasn’t practical before due to a cooker being in the way)
