June 6, 2012 at 10:48 pm #1131827I never had any problems with VM other then the odd cut out for 10mins-1/2 hours .. but it happens sooo rarely it’s hardly worth bothering about it, and normally only at like 3am or something on the odd occasion’s it does happen.
I just got my bandwidth trebled for free as well, so they in my good books atm 😀

Hmm your lucky, our vm box has a mind of it own lol and the remote is useless, you have.to be sat directly infant of the box for it to work, and I don’t like the channel layout.
We only got virgin media for ESPN, so me and my dad could watch football on it, and then oh. Season ends with all the games on sky sports. TYPICAL.June 6, 2012 at 11:48 pm #1183546@DaftFader 482265 wrote:

TYPICAL.June 7, 2012 at 12:38 am #1131828We only got it cos it actually made the whole package cheaper lol. They do like mega deal bundle with free tv what was cheaper then buying the stuff separately. (or at least they did when I got my net connection). I never use the T.V. it’s in the living room and only my parents use it. I pay the internetz my dad the phone (I rarely use it myself), and they get the free T.V. as I don’t watch it bar a few select shows on i-player/4OD.
So pretty chuffed my internetz providingz is getting better then my current internet providingz 😀

TBH thats unavoidable due to the way their network is designed and often caused by mundane things like loss of electric supply to a street box feeding a big fibre, these things are powered by the street lighting mains from UK Power Networks. coax and copper can have a charge of usually 50 volts sent down it to power remote equipment, but you can’t send leccy through a fibre optic cable.

Sometimes it’s just maintenance too, like you say with the way the internet runs on local loops … if they need to do something to a box a whole small area goes out for a short amount of time … and as they have been upgrading all the box’s to try and minimalise the bottle neck effect it has there have been a few outages of recent times. This has been late at night/early morning though, so I only noticed it as I didn’t have a normal sleeping patten at the time. 99% of people that use VM wouldn’t of even noticed.
