June 14, 2011 at 6:54 pm #1150252See Harry Potter is my only guilty pleasure. Though I don’t know why I have to call it a ‘guilty’ pleasure because it’s simply the best well-written story of this age! Certainly better than the whole vampire drama …. 😡
Edit: Really… it is the best series I’ve read. After the Lord of the Rings series I guess. I can’t remember any other series… Oh wait Gemma Doyle Trilogy was good, too. Though I like Harry Potter a bit better.

I heard that, I love the HP series. They are probably one the best series of books out there at the moment. Was proper low when I finished the last book, Ends a bit too quickly if you ask me. I don’t have a crush on Harry though, however Ron’s mum is another matter altogether. 😉
you should read Armageddon’s Children (by Terry Brooks) if you like a bit of the old fantasy!

I dont like it either, saw the first part of the deathly hallows the other night and it was just full of ideas/concepts from other books, largely Lord of the Rings. And I dont much like Lord of the Rings either lol

BLASPHEMY!!! 😮
@GiantMidget, i tried to read the philosopher’s stone when it first came out but it bored me, and i didn’t really like the films much (the first 2 were alright). i was pretty young when i read the book though so i might like it more if i tried again now 🙂June 14, 2011 at 7:45 pm #1150212Anonymous@extraslim 439968 wrote:

I can’t forgive the producers and co for glossing over the books, they could of made so much money (and sorted out the fans) by making two films per book, oh well lol.
But you should give the books a go again though, They are well worth it!

I know what you mean. I really liked how it ended though. I love how she related the smallest things from the past books to make up a whole knew story and change other people’s view. I wonder if she was planning that all along. She’s such a good writer!!! I will give that book a try!! I really need a good book to read thank you!!! 🙂

Well, the only reason the films are not that great and have to be changed a little here and a little there is because the producers can’t use every little detail to make a 4 + hrs movie. 😛 Though I don’t see how it was full of ideas from Lord of the rings though. If you mean magical creatures then well…. they use a specific book that has a list and details about them. I read Lord of The Rings books and the sources were sort of the same on the magical creatures. I don’t know I don’t know I like both of them :PPP
And to be honest I’m glad they made the last book in two parts because it had more important details that couldn’t be missed than other books. I didn’t want to watch that only in 2 or 2 and a half hours! 😛
