@extraslim – the way life is these days its not at all uncommon to end up with most of your friends being online. Even though I have a fair few real life friends working means I don’t always get to see them (and they are busy too..)
If I still lived where I used to I would have cycled over to visit you at some point and have a chat, its only about 26 miles from my old house and I used to regularly do that route to get to raves..

I just find it hard to count people I talk mostly crap to on a rave forum as the kind of friendship that means much. Its nice to have people to talk to who have a brain. But it doesn’t feel like any kind of real friendship. But then again I dont feel much of a bond with few people I have known since school either so god knows.

I’m sure at some point we will be happier that she is in (some sort of ) better place
its just the internal conflict of wishing a ‘vessel’ were dead,
its been atleast 6+ yrs now…
time for her to be at peace, she’s only the same age as marcus’s parents who are still skiing – which puts it in to perspective for me …
but thank you :group_hug

a lot of “friends” I know just talk crap to each other in real life.. and too much emphasis is placed on being extroverted and “American” ideas of friendship what come from movies/idiot box.. (in fact extroverts friendships can be quite shallow).
I know what you mean but time and distances become increasingly a problem these days. There are times I wish it was like I was back in Reading when there always was a squat to go to or a party or someones house to chill at or do mad stuff with computers and electronic things (loads of us were techie/hacker types) which isn’t as much present here so genuine online friends become more important. There are good reasons why we keep the chat friendly here and stomp hard on those what try to disrupt it..

I think on reflection I do consider you lot friends. And my old school friends friends. I think I am always looking for friendship more akin to a romantic relationship in terms of its closeness (emotionally not physically lol) and thus have a bad habit of not appreciating what I do have (and even redefining it as not friendship). Also, my depression most definitely clouds my ability to reason. Thank you all for helping me reach this wiser and more accurate understanding. God that sounds over blown. God I have issues.
Morning all
