TBH its similar to a company I once worked for (just as a project engineer, not a software developer) and the kind of people what get that kind of software job are the genuine sociopathic scum with borderline personality disorders – not even a geeky type who is approachable and friendly and will spend a hour telling you about his new project (even if you only understand 10% of what he is saying!) but the sort of person what sits at computer all day and actually hates people and enjoys making stuff to replace their jobs and livelihoods and he (its usuallly a he) knows it.
This is the kind of person who is a dedicated hard worker, but then 6 months later the Met are busting their door in because they’ve been secretly editing a hard right website in their spare time or building bombs “to blow up immigrants and junkies”. Or even if they aren’t extreme as that they will be backstabbing types who don’t care who the stamp on to get ahead. you probably wouldn’t want to work amongst them.
