just unis.. 🙁 i know where i want to try and get in to but i couldn’t decide between physics and psychology courses. because i love them both. but i’m being realistic with myself and i’m going to apply for psychology because i haven’t really tried at it and have managed As this year. physics is so hard but i try because i love it and i kinda really want to go further with it ): but i have to be realistic with myself i think. i was also having a struggle choosing between just psychology, psychology + journalism and psychology + criminology.. too many choices! :'( atleast i got the place sorted out.

sounds really interesting – I’ve a few mates who have done forensic psychology
anyhoo –
if you looking for future job prospects – do be aware of the new IAPT NHS initiative – they are much much cheaper therapists and ALOT!!!! of nhs psychologists are loosing their jobs what with these wonderful cuts – however lots of moeny is going into IAPT as its CHEAP to do, short and gets results (apparently)
75% of psychologist posts are being axed in my local NHS trust :hopeless: –
there is always private work etc, and prisons etc will always need this sort of input
– but even prior to the cuts it is a really competitive field – to get clinical posts – I know a few psychologists who have doctorates and are doing the IAPT training…….. :group_hug:group_hug

eek! i hope that the economic climate will be a bit better by the time i am looking for a proper job. it takes about 6 years to get a doctorate, i think? (yes, i’m aiming that high ^^) so i’m hoping that in 8 years, things might be a bit better.
the thing with these sandwich degrees is that i don’t want it to appear to an employer that i was indecisive about choosing what i wanted to follow.. and i don’t know how the combined course would affect my job prospects. but i do criminology does sound interesting. i’m also liking the sound of journalism because i’m pretty good at that kind of stuff.. the idea of sports of fashion journalism sounds quite interesting to me.February 8, 2011 at 8:15 pm #1149874Anonymous

My laptop has packed up, the hard drive is kaput. Having to use my Ma’s midget sized notebook. Not so good when you are a giant midget like me.
And to make matters worse, I was playing with my cat and the fucker drooled in my eye. My eye is now blood red so I’m guessing something ain’t right there.
What a shit evening I’m having lol!!! :crazy_diz

February 13, 2011 at 11:30 am #1129238My house now looks like a building site (even more so than normal!) – had to take up floorboards in my room (as there is lots of important plumbing/central heating stuff below them) and remove two kitchen worktops so the gasman could get at the pipes last week to install the new boiler.
The cowboy what built my house before basically did the kitchen in a rush so he could sell it (as he’d split up with his missus and it was her mums house!) and the wiring is fucking atrocious, worse still the worktops have tiling immediately above them (so 5mm of tile overhangs the top of the worktop).
This makes them impossible to remove/refit without cracking some of the tiles
They are proper heavy too so it was a real mission. the gasman tried lifting one and was impressed that I managed it on my own!
I’m going to move my bed into the other room and keep this one for computers and creative stuff as this new boiler uses faster pump setting and is noisy due to the condenser fan, so its not pleasant sleeping above it…
