Any of you lot listen regularly? I get about 5 hours of it a day plus I always listen to the World Service at night.
Or have I hit 40 13 years too soon?

February 4, 2010 at 4:05 pm #1222704I prefer radio 4 or radio scotland to any other stations – listen to it at work or when I am driving. I hate music radio on fm as its sound quality is so bad
The programs on those stations are very interesting too so its all good.

I really should get myself one of those pure dab’s sometime soon. Lot of good channels kicking around.
February 8, 2010 at 11:25 pm #1222702Used to love listening to the world service, you actually got to hear important news and world current affairs that wasn’t just about british politicians talking out of own backsides. r4 had some good programmes on as well, even woman’s hour used to make you think a bit.

I think my parents chucked our old valve radio out about 20 years ago 🙁 I remember it well though, esp the nice big clonk the rotary switches made, and the wait for the cathodes to heat up before you could hear anything. Slots in the back just inviting you to poke a finger in and touch the nice glowy bits 😉 LW, MW, SW but no VHF/FM of course ! Farewell Luxembourg, Hilversum, Droitwich (:laugh_at:) and all those romantic sounding places …

the radio at my old work didnt quite go down to 87.5, you could just about hear slight fuzzy drum breaks if you bent the knob a bit lower..
havent tried it at my new work tho as ive only been there two days, might give it a while first!

The big bad one…East anglias finest. Hahaha, proper miss that station tho mate. And you cant get the other local one in our town 🙁
I mostly listen to pirates and other stations through the pirate radio toolbar as the stations in my local area are normally wank.
