Just about to go to a pub for a workmates leaving do, and I realised I haven;t been to one for months. In fact probably only once or twice all year. Up to last summer I used to go at least once a week, and sometimes all weekend. Now it’s never-just drink at home or round mates houses. I can’t be the only one as loads of pubs in my small town have closed recently.
What about you lot on here, still visit the pub?
May 30, 2008 at 2:22 pm #1173221I dont really go much. Its shit. I dont even like drinking that much. Well, not as a sole night out thing.
Usually though, If Im not at a party Im round at a mates Instead for a night. Cant get away with much naughtiness at a pub :crazy_diz
May 30, 2008 at 2:33 pm #1173208only certain pubs where they let my mates set up their soundsystems in ๐
actually I have in recent times started enjoying “proper” ale, i.e IPA/bitter etc but haven’t quite yet reached the age where I would be cycling to the pub wearing a flat cap, dressed like a Suffolk farmer and with a small yappy terrier in the front basket :laugh_at:
was actually considering joining CAMRA, but its a temptation to drink ale in such quantities that I will put on weight and I’m too old for the youths discount ๐ฅ
May 30, 2008 at 3:07 pm #1173211dont worry GL, NUS cards are so eaasy to fake you’ll be fine
“im a mature student, trust!”

in answer to the thread, i go to the pub far too much, as i work there far too much, and spend my wages there far too much, and dance on pool tables with my trousers round my ankles far too much, ahem…

May 30, 2008 at 5:01 pm #1173210Pubs in my home town are crap. However, I do find myself frequenting sme lovely ones in London. And I’ve drunk IPA since I was 16, so I wouldn’t worry about it……….

you’ll still get the youths discount for CAMRA, I think its until age 26
students of any age also get a discount, so maybe if I do end up going back to college I’ll do it then ๐
