psytrance has really grown on me lately, the sweet bass rhythms, and funky sounds, really touches my soul harder than ANY other type of music.

was wandering what Your thoughts where on this music, Fave cd ? Fave dj ?

also, ive seen and heard great things about psytrance raves, where would most of these parties be ? where can i find out about them ?

psytrance is ace mate. not really sure about who or what i like, but i know i like it! put psyinvasion into google if your after some good psytrance parties…raaa

i like it but not really the fairy poncy shit you get with psytrance, prefer the more darker heavier stuff, cant stand it all night though gets abit boring

also the more dubby chilled out psy is good :bounce_fl

Oh, god, I fucking love psytrance. I’m really getting into the UK stuff at the moment, namely AMD, RealityGrid, Flip-Flop, EVP… Love the harder stuff. Anything played by Gaba and Sutekh gets my vote! Also been trying to produce it recently, but that’s another story…

As for parties, there are some cracking legal and illegal ones. Best legal party I’ve been to is Tribe of Frog in Bristol, though I went to a great legal Psy Invasion party a few months back. Acid Monkey parties are legal too, and they’re meant to be awesome. There’s one in two weeks at the Colosseum in Vauxhall. Phat lineup – Phatmatix from France are gonna rip it for sure!

Best illegal parties in London are by far the ones run by Psychedelic Circle. Went to a beautiful 24 hour outdoor party last weekend. Was pretty much perfect. Love Psychedelic Circle parties!

Psytrance culture is also amazing too. The scene is full of absolute friendliness; no hostility found anywhere. It’s like there’s one big psychedelic family in London, it’s lovely. Fluffy people listening to pounding music. 😀

😎 I went to a cool outdoor Psy Invasion party two weeks ago. Really nice decorations. Was like a mini festival.

Depends, man. People say this about every genre of music (e.g. “Punk is dead!”). I think it’s something to do with the listener’s honeymoon period with the certain genre being over. The stuff coming out of the UK at the moment is pretty fierce IMO. Also, big up on the Kana mention; her set at Glade was stunning.

Oh, and I’ve yet to see you play! You still doing nights at The Tap…?

i dont play anything that comes from Israel, pretty much the U.K (bar liquid records), U.S.A, mexico (unless its proggy stuff) the western side of the world’s psy scene is boring, repetitive synths, the same time lines, everything … pure cocaine driven nonsense …

try eastern europe mate, russia, belgium, czech, slovakia, the swiss, germany … that is where the scene like with more electronic dance is still ‘where its at”

One of my mates from london went to that said it was amazing, bit of a mission to find tho.. appaerntly it got shut down by the riot cops at about 12 the next day, even tho it was on private land! fucking wankers.

Fair enough, man. I’m really digging the stuff on WildThings Records at the moment… Dunno, there’s something about their trademark sound that does it for me…

Any recommendations? I’ve heard a bit of Eastern Europian psy, but mostly dark stuff like Para Halu and Psykovsky… Got any recommendations for more traditional psytrance from those parts? There’s only so much dark my mind can take. 😛

Yeah, it was an absolute mission to find. An hour or so outside London. And, yeah, ‘t was shut down at 11:30, but only by normal coppers. The superintendent called himself Donkey Greenhouse, apparently. :laugh_at:I was back at a mate’s by then, though, doing GHB. 😛

The Psychedelic Circle party was definitely more fun than the Psy Invasion one though. Even if Psy Invasion had a thunderstorm and Headroom…

At the moment i’m mainly listening to stuff from peeps like, U-recken – Magoon – Gataka – Planet ben – Tikal – Ziki – Rumble pack – Psychonaut, theres fucking loads out there Man! That psy bassline just runs through my ears into my mind with ultimate Bliss:love:
i got to say, psytrance on shrooms, Fuck ! :crazy_dru

Get yourself on the Psymusic forums ( Upcoming Parties and Festivals – PsyMusic UK ). Info about pretty much every psytrance party every week on there. They put all the upcoming parties in a handy bit at the top of the forum, so you don’t have to trawl through pages and pages to find parties. 😉 Most are in London too…

you have to be very careful with dark psy, 99.9% of it is toss … samples of womens screaming and goblins laughin … christ … it sounds like im stuck on the haunted house ride at alton towers … by dark psy i mean psy which uses different bass lines, it can be faster but doesnt have to … the problem is producers think to make a track ‘dark’ they just need to stick up the bpm to 180 which altough is good for genres such as hardcore etc for psy this is audio rape …

eastern europe is fantastic for psy, fungineer, i will write up some artists names and get them to you when i have time, being in newbury i might be able to get you a good few cds together … im currently doing about 5 for people on here 🙂

what i said about the psy scene being arse at the moment, from israel to the states to our own sunny england the genre is plagued by producers who get the ‘psy production pack 1.1’ for a couple’a’bob and start mashing these tunes out which to the more serious listener sound aweful, the same basslines, tiesto like synths and samples of films/cartoons/games etc jesus christ im here to listen to some psychedelic music not all the samples of southpark which you can easily find on … limewire :yawn:

all genres have their more commercial producers and bad periods of production but frankly psy trance has gone on for too long …

… or maybe its just me :yakk:

i love psytrance, one of my favourite genres, although as said above there is quite a lot of shit stuff as with any music really.

preston madhatters tent at gashfest is a highlight of my psytrance it has to be said raaa

Welcome to 2008. Long gone are the days of producers going on tours of asia to find that ‘thing’ which’ll make their music all the more special. Now is the times of trying to bash out another album for another buck, not giving one toss about what their stuff actually sounds like to anybody BUT themselves and generally making psy hard to enjoy.

Nothing even comes close to the beauty and immersive nature of PSY i get complety lost in layer upon layer of finely textured and crafted sound , its pretty much all i listen to all day long .

How the guys and girls who make this stuff can get their head around creating such an intricate, beautuful, and bloody random journeys without losing the overall flow of the tune its beyond me .Where the hell do you start? i take my hat off to you guys ,as i would give my right nad to be able to create such beautyfull and menacingly evil sound scapes.

Tripping to it is beyond my words :love: mind you the clue is in the title.
