in audacity in the file menu
open the file you are working on and then drop down the file menu
select export as wav and that theoretically should be the ticket 🙂October 21, 2006 at 2:45 pm #1092522the file as in the tune?
as in once ive downloaded audacity, before ive started downloading the tune like?October 21, 2006 at 2:50 pm #1092500you download audacity, install and open it.
Select the tune of your choice to record and when you have recorded it save it.
Now [without closing the file ;)] go to export as wav and perform this action wav= normal format in which a CD is burnt so you can assemble several of these tracks and burn them to CD and put them in any CD player
that any better? :weee:
October 21, 2006 at 3:03 pm #1092523right
jus to make sure though, when you record it you should get the little squiggly thing that sort of measures the sounds if you get my meaning because it doesnt show up when i record – its just a straight line.
explain, chief.
good or bad?October 21, 2006 at 3:21 pm #1092509Sounds like you need to tell Audacity that you are recording from MIC IN on your laptop,There will be an option in Audacity preferences somwhere,OR on your laptop you may have to tick the box under MICROPHONE in your sound settings (Control panel-Sounds and audio devices-Audio-Sound recording, tick the advanced box and make sure you have ticked Microphone as the source)

October 23, 2006 at 3:15 pm #1092527one thing tho
some tunes are slightly distorted especially really bassey ones.
i thought maybe record them a little quieter?
whajathink?October 23, 2006 at 4:14 pm #1092502recording them more quietly should do the trick = better a bit low than too high
[depending on what you use to burn the CD it can adjust the levels for you [it is called normalising the track BTW]]October 23, 2006 at 10:34 pm #1092528lovely jubly!
