okay by taking one of the audio outputs in the TV out and sticking it in my laptop somehow…

                        white – left audio channel
                        red – right audio channel
ignore the yellow one as that is composite video

get yourself a 2 x phono socket to 3.5mm jack plug lead, and connect this to the line in of your laptop…

assuming you are on Win XP

Start > Settings > Control panel > Sound and Audio Devices

(what you will see after this depends on your laptops audio hardware but it should hopefully be fairly easy to follow)

If you make sure “place volume icon on taskbar” is selected an icon of a small loudspeaker will appear near the clock on the right hand side of your screen (if it is not there already)

If you right click on this you can select “open volume control” which you can use to adjust the input and output levels

right done all that an jus spent half the afternoon saving my tracks onto the computer. the thing is that when i finished and tried to put them onto CD it wasnt having any of it. apparently the audacity files arent considdered as valid music files.
can u shed any light on this
                                              so close, man, so close!

go back to audacity and ask it to save them as wav files not its proprietary format

use the save as command 😉
